On Saturday June 9 2012, Team Page will be hosting a fun-packed fundraiser in fond memory of their good friend Mike Page, who tragically died in 2010 at just 44 years old.
To honour Mike’s memory, his friends decided to rebuild his old Triumph Bonneville that had sat in his front room in pieces for longer than some of his friends had known him!
But during Mike’s Wake a cunning planning was hatched. Team Page was created to rebuild the Triumph Bonneville and take it to Bonneville Speed Week in August 2012, to race at the Bonneville Salt Flats outside of Wendover, Utah.
To help fund the project Team Page have organized a fundraising even on Saturday June 9 at Broadlake Social Club in St Albans, from 7pm to late, with food and drink available until midnight.
Entry is free and entertainment on the night includes comedian Rick Pistol, as well as a live band, the Elsie Diamond burlesque experience and Bell and Vincent.
There’s also the opportunity to win great prizes, including a MiniMoto in the Team Page raffle being drawn on the night, as well as the grand unveiling of the team and the bike.
To date Team Page have covered all funds including bike parts, build time, air-fares for the team and the bike, but need to raise funds to keep the project going.
The team and bike are being filmed by the BBC for a forthcoming broadcast covering Bonneville Speed Week, and the team is also looking for sponsorship opportunities.
