A British soldier who lost both legs and his right arm who completed a Land’s End to John O’Groats ride on an adapted trike during Summer 2010 will hand over a cheque for £40,000 on January 29.

Corporal Andy Reid was injured in a bomb blast in 2009 and was incredibly lucky to survive his horrific injuries. A biker before his injury, Reid agreed to do the charity ride just four weeks after his injury.

Reid lead hundreds of motorcyclists the full length of the country as local bike clubs joined him. Reid later won a ‘Millie’ award from The Sun newspaper for his efforts ‘in the face of adversity’.

The charity ride and various other fundraising efforts has raised £40,000 for Help for Heroes and the cheque will be handed over on January 29 by Reid.
