Staff Blog: Night Riding Fun

Is it just me or do your skills sharpen as you ride in the dark and your speed increase? Riding the 50 miles from Silverstone to home the other night I really enjoyed the dark journey. The lights on Yamaha Fazer8 give really good visibility and I noticed that I was using other cars, cats eye and road markings far ...

Pushing the limits

Hi all, and a happy new year.i wanted some advice on a course where i can learn how far you can really push a bike. Route to an A licence rip off

Why so expensive? I have just done my A1 Module 1 which cost me %XA315 on my own bike, but the local riding school wanted %XA3120 with their bike. I can do Module 2 for %XA375 on my 125, but when I want to go to a full A licence, the rip off begins. Anyone know how to do a full A licence without going through riding school prices? I understand riding schools cost, but wheres the choice, you can take you car test without a driving school!

Horse riders, a noisy bike and poor road visibility...best practice?

I just passed my CBT on a geared bike a week ago, although I had a twist and go years back and have driven for the past 13 years.Out for a gentle 'getting to know the bike better' (Yamaha RS100, noisy but beautiful little 2 stroke) jaunt on country lanes on Sunday I came up behind a horse and rider.  Saw them in plenty of time, dropped down and kept my distance, BUT we were on a drawn out, narrow, low visibility bend, which meant all I could do was sit behind them, for a fair few minutes, during which ...

foot down Mod 2?

Hey GuysI'm curious, I don't feel terribly comfortable leaning into corners too much so I occasionally stick my inside leg out when I turn and I feel I lean further and turn tighter. I was wondering if this is an issue when it comes to Mod 2?I'm trying to tighten my riding up in anticipation of taking a test.Brewer

Post test training?

I'd be grateful for thoughts on post test training / skills development.  I passed mod 2 in May and expect to be a weekend rider with the odd commute.  I've bought a Honda CBF 600 SA and have been driving for 20 odd years.  My ideas were BikeSafe or the DVLA Enhanced Rider Scheme.  Other suggestions made to me are:Ride 10,000 miles then think about it; andCalifornia race school.Grateful for thoughts on these or other ideas. Thanks
