Breaking free from the rat race

My adventure wasn't about the route taken, the stops along the way or even the destination. My journey was about getting away from the monotony of the rat race of life and having the freedom to decide which direction to ride, when to push on and when to set up camp. This freedom of choice and thought, coupled with 12 ...

Knight and Day - The Amalfi Run

Inspired by the Tom Cruise film ‘Knight and Day’, I casually suggested a ride along the Amalfi Coast in Italy to a mate one Sunday evening. Within seconds, I got a text back saying ‘the wife has said yes’ and the trip was on! Before we knew it, our over excitement had extended the trip to include the Alps, Croatia, ...

Picos De Europa

I've just come back from Northern Spain, the Picos De Europa mountains in a 16 bike group. The roads and scenery around there are truly stunning. The Atlantic-generated weather however was a bit hit and miss but a good time was had by all. Picture is at Riano, nestled in the mountains, with Andy, Gordon and Lee.

Sometimes you just can’t win.

Sometimes you just can’t win. You’re riding along on a low-powered touring bike, taking in the scenery, breathing deeply and slowly and then… … we won’t spoil the surprise. The rider apparently escaped with nothing worse than a lower leg fracture, thankfully.
