The Sachs X-Road 125 is a one-of-a-kind. Styled like a supermoto with wide 17-inch rims, excellent brakes and red painted tubular steel frame it’s also got an underseat silencer and comes with aggressive-looking and grippy ‘wet’-style tyres. Suzuki GSF650 Bandit (2005-2006)

A well-mannered middleweight that’s simple to use, cheap to buy and cheap to run. The Suzuki GSF650 Bandit doesn’t particularly excel in any one department, but for newer riders it’s worth considering with a low seat height and forgiving manners. The GSF650 Bandit's capacity advantage over its older GSF600 Bandit sibling doesn’t actually translate into significantly more go.

Kawasaki GPZ1100 (1995-1998)

The Kawasaki GPZ1100 is more sporty tourer than sports tourer. Launched with zero cutting edge technology but a honking great engine with a hearty midrange that makes rapid riding easy. On the spec sheet the Kawasaki GPZ1100 is an overweight dinosaur but on the road it’s actually a great machine. Just don’t go chasing the latest GSX-Rs on a twisty road.

Moto Guzzi Daytona RS (1992-1999 )

The Moto Guzzi Daytona was always the pure, no messin' about, Dr John race replica in the range, whether in 1000cc form, or the with the later 1100 motor. Fuelling problems spoil the performance a little bit, but there's a brutal elegance about the Daytona and true collector value.
