The overall reliability and a succession of gearbox problems, eventually sank Lord Hesketh's V-twin folly in the 80s, but the modern day motorcycles are built to the owner's spec, and painstakingly manufactured, so there shouldn't be any major problems. To be fair, the Hesketh V1000 isn't a motorcycle you would ride daily, so most owners would probably accept doing regular maintenance to keep the motorcycle fit for very occasional use.
