Honda CLR125 CityFly (1998-2003)

I have done over 4,000 miles on mine in the last 7 months. It starts every time, even through the winter and I seldom get less than 200 miles out of the main tank - I make that around 120 mpg. Around town and B roads (up to 55 mph) it is easy to handle, has great visibility and is lots of fun even though it's not the quickest. On fast A roads or big hills, you'll be bent over the tank and chasing vans looking any assistance you can get! The firm suspension and thin(ish) seat means its It's not the most comfortable ride but the solid handling more than makes up for that. It's a great bike for learning or commuting on but breathless on hills or the open road. I paid £750 and it was worth every penny.

Great learner bike. I get 65 MPH out of mine on a straight. 70MPH with my head down if im very lucky ;) . Very very reliable. nice comfy seat and handle bars suit me lovely. There is only a speedo, no reserve light for petrol which i find very annoying ! Great MPG though. I find the lights on the bike terrible. Dont expect to lean this bike over ! The tryes are deffently not made for that. Rides nice but why put those tryes on it ? Who is honestly going to go off roading with it ? Great bike. Look out for rust. Expect the bike to of been thrased but its a very reliable engine so shouldnt be to much of a problem.

The CLR is a superb bike to learn on. Its light, easy to handle and ride and has plenty of power for learning in built up areas/town. Out of town it struggles - 65mph, down a hill with the wind behind you!! Rev the hell out of it and it'll get you there and it's noisy when you cane it. Good build quality generally and good value for money - very economical. Equiptment wise - pretty basic but what more do you need on a bike like this?? overall a good little learner and an excellent 2nd hand purchase. 30/05/2008

The City Fly was a great first bike and spent just under 2 years learning on it before taking my test, and honestly i can only find one real flaw, the speed. The bike just can't compete on duel carrageways which can mean long planned lorry overtaking taking into account the gradient of the ground. That said it is only a 125 and the engine iv found to be very reliable, always fired up first time and no real mechanical faults.For city/ built up riding its great though, slim, light, nippy at low speeds. Good looks for a commuter and great fuel economy. Great little Learner/commuter/fun bike.

i bought one brand new for over 2 grand when it came out, cus i couldnt get insurance on the cbr, yes it does grab the eye with the exhaust and other bits of chrome, but it is slower than a cg, the nobbly tyres are rubbish on the road and the build quality (sorry honda) was appauling, within 6 months it had turned into what looked like a 10 year old bike and i lost 1500 pound in only 6 months, it was the biggest mistake i've ever made, the only good thing to me was that it was sooooo cheap to run, 7 quid used to get me well over 200 miles if i remember right..a cheap commuter but thats it. there are many more better 125's on the road.

Excellent little bike. cheap to run and will do over 150 miles on a tank of fuel. The engine is a little noisey under acceleration and will only do about 60 mph but still an excellent little bike.
