It’s been a long time since new models from Moto Guzzi were anything to get excited about and although there’s nothing radical or inspiring about the Bellagio, and it’s still mostly been assembled by raiding the parts bins, for a roadster/cruiser it’s undeniably stylish, well-equipped, has a fruity motor, fun handling and is good value, too.

Outwardly nothing new, but the Moto Guzii Bellagio's 940 displacement gives the lie. Based on the smaller (and now modernised with Guzzi’s CARC anti-reaction shaft drive plus glitchless fuel injection) the big bore V-twin manges that rare feat of being both flexible and zesty. A peach, albeit a heavy one.

Ride and Handling

Owners' rating rating is 4.5

The Moto Guzzi Bellagio is far better than your average custom. The Bellagio has decent suspension, brakes and tyres, steers sweetly yet is comfortable and smooth and is a pleasure to hustle around. It’ll run rings around a Harley Sportster, for example.

Despite a fairly Spartan outlook, peer closer and you can’t fail to be impressed by the quality of the components of the Moto Guzzi Bellagio: Alloy rimmed Excel wire wheels; beefy Brembo brakes, quality Marzocchi suspension plus quality switchgear, instruments and mirrors adds up to a classy package.

Quality and Reliability

MCN rating rating is 4
Owners' rating rating is 4

Just a few years ago Guzzi’s quality was rightly damned and their reliability wasn’t much to shout about either – that’s all changed under, firstly Aprilia and no Piaggio ownership. Quality of the Moto Guzzi Bellagio is up there with (almost) the best from Italy and recent bikes have had no reliability woes worth mentioning.

At first glance the Moto Guzzi Bellagio is nothing special. And the bulbous tank is a love/hate affair. Get beyond those, howevere, and the Bellagio is corking value – as long as you can persuade yourself to resist the Harley badge. Find a Moto Guzzi Bellagio 940 for sale.

Otherwise ok and nice to drive but the speedo / odometer does not work in the rain. Factory says they are sorry but nothing can be done even if there is a factory warranty valid for the bike. A bit confusing attitude?

I purchased the Bellagio new in the spring and it is my 1st Guzzi. All I can say is wow what a great bike. Bought primarily for a sunny sunday afternoon cruise the bike is so much more than that. Superb engine, which, through the twin exhausts sounds just fantastic and makes you want to rev it hard. It also has the handling and brakes to match. All the components are good quality and the riding position is relaxed. recently did 600 miles on the bike in 24 hours on a mix of motorway and mountain roads and it handled everything really well. Although naked it was very comfortable on the motorway at 80-85 ish and the saddle is very comfortable. Tank range is 170 miles+ (although anoyingly the fuel light comes on at about 130 miles)and I very easily managed full 150 mile+ motorway stints non stop without any discomfort. In the mountains it was great fun with really good handling. If you want the looks of a cruiser but the handling and comfort of a sport tourer this bike ticks a lot of boxes. I have also not yet seen another one on the road so you get exclusivity as well!! So far it's been very reliable so would happily recomend and can now see what all the fuss is about when you meet fanatical Guzzi owners!!
