Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa (2007-current)

right ill start with the fact ive owned my hayabusa for four years and its been faultless. I do all the servicing myself and always have from tyres to valve clearances.(it is easy to look after) ive just upgraded the brakes to brembos and that really makes a massive difference. I have HEL braided brake pipes back and front which offer a more responsive feel over the OEM ones. I do oil changes every 2000 miles and oil and oil filter every 4000 miles, the air filter is a K&N. Spark plugs are done every 6000 miles and valves every 14500 miles, Ive now done 30000 miles and its still as tight as it was the day i picked it up. if you look after the chain and sprockets and they will look after you mine are still original and thats fantastic for this bike. I have very little service history for it but i dont intend on selling it(not yet at least). the new BMW and ZZR etc may be faster but once youve ridden this you wont be disappointed, ive done many trips to germany france and northern scotland and its very comfortable fully loaded with luggage that you wouldnt even now was there. also ive never have this problem with tyres lasting only 800 miles ive had 5/6000 miles from the rears. all in all a great bike.

Following on from my 1st review of the Gen2 which didn't inspire me enough to buy one..I went for a ZZR1400...which as good as it is has proved not to have any of the character of a Busa. Yeah the ZZR is super fast but also hard work to enjoy on twisty A or B roads where its low rpm lack of grunt is its fall down and needs its suspension seriously tweaked for 2 up use. Now in the process of buying an 08' Busa which I test rode for 2 days and couldn't have enjoyed myself more on 2 wheels...absence does indeed make the heart grow stronger. Everything about the bike just ticks all my boxes straight from the box vs its rivals...cost me £2k to realise that.

Got my second new Hyabusa what ever bike i change to it always leads me back to this bike. it tours, it crusies, it goes fast very fast it handles, its good on fuel, my Ducati drinks it. just really love this bike and in white its a bird of pray waiting to pounce, simply a stunning bike.This bike does it all

I'e had my bike 10 months and have just passed 11,000 miles, a great bike, got the suspension uprated and adjusted for my weight. Now its just fanatastic, roll on Cadwell park track day in 10 days

I have \ Ducati 1098 and my new Hyabusa comes in two weeks caint wait its my second Hyabusa in a year and they are superb simply a awsome roadbike like no other. Everyone should ride/own one of these bikes once in there lives. Thank you Suzuki!!!!!! 13 days to go

Now, having owned and ridden everything from R1s, ZX10r, Fireblades, GSXR1000s etc I thought I would get something a bit more comfortable..I went for a 2008 Hayabusa. I was expecting it to be fast and it certainly is. What surprised me was the ease at which it goes extremely fast.. a 1k sports bike needs to be worked to a certain extent to get a serious pace on, however the Busa goes from any revs, any gear like a sports bike does towards the top end. This makes for very swift progress but Ive found you tend to be going a lot quicker at any given situation on the Busa.. rolling out of 60mph bends in 6th, wind it on and it whips upto 120mph in the time its taken to knock a race rep down 3 gears.. this is both has its advantages and disadvantages..it never feels like you are working it or pushing it but still acheiving licence losing speeds in total composure. I have found that to ge the same buzz as a race rep you need to be achieving 30mph more than a sports bike..Not a bike for those with little sef restraint. Its a fantastic bike for euro voyages, a recent trip to Innsbruck was dealt with painlessly and nothing can live with it on the german autobahns and there are many E63 AMGs, M5s, Porsches that have a go! Handling and braking are spot on for the road and you can pretty much ride it like a race rep, a BSB rider might be faster on a superbike but to an average intermediate track day rider on the road its everything you could want, its only on the track it feels a bit heavy in the slower corners. Its really comfy for my 6'3 frame, returns nearly 50mpg at 100mph on the motorway and is a doddle to pootle around on.. You really wont go far wrong with a gen 2 Busa for all round road use. A near perfect bike for those with any self restraint. Highly recommended

I owned a gen1 for 20 months and covered 28,000 miles, loved it, but with 40,000 miles on clock, opted for a great pre-vat and 2% deal. After 9 months and 8,000 miles later, my views are this is a better bike. More midrange and top end, improved handling and sharper brakes. This is the only bike i want. just love it!

Newer isnt always better...had a Gen 1 for over 4 years and simply couldn't see the point in buying a Gen2...ok its got more power and better brakes but thats all for me...mode switch is pointless, back end is hideous and to be honest it feels old. Bought a ZZR1400 instead and I now understand why people do serious touring on them...the Busa has the better engine low down but feels heavy and clumsy by comparison to the Zed. If you want a bike fast bike the Busa is still hard to beat so long as you've never owned one....better value than a GSXR

If you like this kind of bike (lets face it, lots of people don't and want to ban it), the Hayabusa is without equal. I would call it SERENE at any speed between 0-300kph. Can't ask for more except a full Akrapovic system as standard and dinner with Halle Berry as part of the delivery. Astonishing, Breath-takingly Beautiful and extremely SEXY (like Halle).

I did 600 miles in about 8 hours at the weekend with minimal pain i'd like to see someone do that on the bmw 1000 they would need an operation after. I know I got the right bike for me.
