Yamaha XTZ660 (1991-1999)

N/A

659cc, 47bhp, 93mph, Insurance group 9

The Yamaha XTZ660 (or Teneré) comes from a time when Continental cool meant enormous trail-style bikes and a far-away look in the eyes. Actually that might just have been piles, since the Yamaha XTZ660 boasts one of the most uncomfortable seats ever created outside of the Inquisitions of 15th-Century Spain. The exhaust and spokes rot and the electrics are poor. ...

Neval Dnepr (1974-2000)

N/A

749cc, 45bhp, 80mph, Insurance group 8

The Dnepr/Ural machines are a real antiques roadshow, which can trace their roots back to the 1940s. First seen as a Cossack 650cc, the Neval Dnepr is basic two - or three - wheeled transport. Most examples of this motorcycle are old and carrying plenty of scars and can be potential money pits. Worth considering if you find a loved Ducati 600SS in mint condition and don’t want ...

Bimota BB1 Supermono (1995-1999)

N/A

652cc, 48bhp, 110mph, Insurance group 13

The Bimota BB1 is strictly one for enthusiasts and collectors. Gorgeous looks, excellent handling and Italian exclusivity are the positives. Unfortunately the negatives (lack of power and heavy vibrations from the engine) more than outweigh the plusses for most people. Also the Bimota BB1 is not cheap and dealer back up is almost non-existent.
