Hey guys,I have had some good good experience of this place, so I'm back, and I have a head scratcher for you. I am looking for a bike, and I need the help of you venerable lot. So here goes.First off. *MPG*. No one cares about this normally, but I do, right now, it's a big concern of mine. I want to get as high an MPG as possible. At the moment I'm looking at 50mpg being not good enough. I can get near that in a car and I want to eliminate as far as possible the cares of ...
I have a 94 gpz500s which runs fine for a while, then will want to stall when the revs drop. it seems to shut down on the right hand cyclinder, but kicks in and runs ok if i turn the fuel tap off untill it runs out. would it be a faulty fuel tap, the 2 carbs adjusted differently so 1 runs richer or leaner, or maybe the carbs need balancing? i can ride it ok but gets a bit annoying having to turn the tap on and off all the time to keep it running ok
I have a Suzuki GS500E and she runs perfectly for me and never brakes down. But when shes at about 5,000rpm theres a lot of vibration coming from the engine, which stops after i pass roughly 5,500rpm. Any got some advice on what it might be? Thanks
Hi Everyone,I've recently decided to purchase a VFR800 Vtec. Previously I have owned Gixxers, Speed Triple's and an Aprillia RSVR but I'm a bit older and fatter now and the VFR seems to offer me the best of all worlds at a fairly sensible price. I did consider a Sprint 1050 as well but the prices seem to be a bit higher so I've put that on the back burner! I was wondering whether you knowledgeable people could answer a few questions I have about them?First things first I don't have a huge budget, a young family and ...
Hi allJust wanted a bit of advice about winter storage.Bikes been stored the last two months and will be stored the rest pf winter in the garage. Would it be advisable now or perhaps after running and warming the bike up to bung the exhaust opening with something to prevent moisture getting in, or could this actually cause problems.Last thing - the bikes due an oil change, but i was planning to leave it until im about to ride regularly again next season. Should i drop the old oil cold when spring comes or run the bike with the old ...
Fibreglass fuel tank I am thinking of buying a fiberglass cafe racer fuel tank for my bike, and have found a U.K company who makes one that is ethanol proof, so is suitable for modern petrol. However I seem to remember that having a glass fiber tank is an MOT failure as the rules say that only metal tanks will pass the MOT however many modern bikes are fitted with plastic tanks.I have done several searches online and some sites say its ok and others say its illegal. Can you help
Question, you know when the road is really wet but running through the middle of the wet road in your lane is a strip of rough tarmac that looks dry....is it a deceptive trap or a god send to a motorcyclist?
All,I currently ride an Xmax 125 scooter, which has been a really great bike, however my commute is due to extend shortly significantly to 90 miles a day, can anyone recommend a bike capable of doing 100k+ miles, would the Yamaha xmax be capable with regular maintenance?
Well Iv'e been off a bike for a while (long story but mix divorce, ill health and job change). Would love a white VFR or a Hornet but have to wait. Got a car (Ford Fiesta Diesel...) that has claimed mpg figures of :53 urban80 extra urban67 combined.I'm averaging 55 best mpg 59 (on a long trip) which really doesn't compare well against my F800 which I averaged 70 over 25000 miles riding a lot less gently than the Fiesta%X85 (and had a high of 89). I am doing about 200 miles a week of which 100 miles are typically ...
