Fruity pipe for GS

Can anyone advise me. I want to change the pipe on my 1200 GS (back box only), for something with a bit more character, but not too noisy. At the moment it seems like I can only find Remus and Akrapovic. Can anyone advise what they have done, and are they road legal yet giving the bike a bit more character? Also some idea of costs (aluminium is fine)

r1100rt/r1200rt

been looking at buying one of these bikes 2nd hand, but not sure which one to go for. i have never had a bmw before, so not sure what to expect, having heard tales of batterys and engine/drive seals needing replacing at low milages, any body else had problems i should know about i like the look of the 1150 to the 1200's rather plasticy fairing, a dealer i spoke to said the 1200 was far better bike but it was nearly 4 grand more. thanks kevin.

Has anyone got a givi topbox on a 1200GS? is the Givi mounting plate any good and does the box sit in the correct place to use a back rest pad? I need a topbox to fit 2 helmets, any other good options?

all faults no fun

I'm getting a bit miffed at the faults recurring on my GS, so thought worth giving you all a list to open up for suggestions on how get some er, "after sales service" 100 miles - gearbox imploded. Very kindly replaced by BMW. No explanations. Bike still flings itself out of 2nd gear, usually when accellerating round a corner. Battery - temp. gets frosty, make sure you have the AA on speeddial Electrics - where to start. 1. Go off road or over a speed bump, all electrics fail. No ABS, lights, etc etc. 2. Take keys out, bike still ...

OLDER MODEL BMW K1200GT

Help! I'm after some feedback on the older model (ie upto 2005) K1200GT, as I'm considering buying a '03/04 model. MCN shows only a review on the new model, and Parker's doesn't include a listing for GTs at all. What should I look out for when buying one (probably from a dealer), and what does it cost to run etc. Any info welcome.

This Boxer has No Gloves

Paul Dickinson covered 80,000 miles on his BMW R1150RT and has just got an R1200RT. He sent in this comparison test and I thought it was to good not to share. Let me know your thoughts on the bike by posting here or emailing me by clicking here This Boxer has No Gloves - Tickle my tummy's definitive road test of the new BMW R1200RT - for the people. There are road tests, even more road tests and there's this one that I've written below. It's my serious attempt at an objective road test of the controversial new RT. ...

BMW R1150RT

BMW seems to support its dealerships on the sale of Stolen/Recovered motorcycles, e.g. I bought a %XA35,200 BMW R1100RT from an authorised BMW dealership in Rednall, Birmingham to find out 2 months later the bike had been Stolen/Recovered, re-stamped by police put together and sold to BMW who knew it had been restamped and sold it on regardless.. motto of "history known, future guaranteed" is BullS**T
