Has anyone fitted / tried fitting a Givi Wingrack system to an RS? I'm considering buying a 2003 model bike, and I already have a wingrack and cases from a previous bike. I understand that the exhaust doesn't move out of the way as with the ST, but is that the only difference? Cheers.
I had to buy a Fuel Filter for my 1999 ST yesterday. went to my local Triumph dealer and asked how much,SHOCK, %XA330.00 your joking said I, no joke said the parts guy but you could buy a Ducati one, the same filter, made by the same company and its only %XA313.00 only thing is it says Ducati Motor on it insted of Triumph. Well done the parts guy, shame on Triumph for trying to rip me off. So if you need a filter ask for a Ducati one, the number on the box is 42540041B.
Don't know if anyone saw the latest Bike. They have the RS up against the likes of the TDM, R850 and CBF600. The review was pretty lacklustre but it did come a close second to the TDM, although they did talk of teh strong engine.... Usual rubbish. The one confusing thing was that they claim the dyno recorded 82bhp. Dunno whether they had a sick bike, a Tiger engine or they were just talking rubbish so that the bike fitted in with the rest of the group. The S3 test in the previous month's issue had power at about 107/108 ...
The 020s are looking and feeling worn again. I was wondering what the logic was regarding changing at this time of year. On the one hand new boots would improve grip when most needed in dodgy conditions, and are unlikely to wear too quickly either. On the other hand since I am unlikely to use them anywhere near their potential maybe it's best to put up with them until the spring and change then. Decisions decisions....
WENT TO THE NEC ON FRIDAY, BIT OF A POOR TURN OUT BUT THE TRIUMPH STAND CHOKA, AND THERE WAS AN `RS` NO MENTION OF IT IN THE 2005 LINE UP SO WHATS THE DEAL DO THEY STILL MAKE IT OR WHAT, AND WHAT ABOUT A NEW `RS` WITH THE `ST` PIPES? INCIDENTALY DOES ANYONE ELSE THINK THE `ST` LOOKS LIKE `STITCH` FROM `LILO AND STITCH`!
Has any one had problems with the front brake pipe hitting the radiator on their st. my rad started to leak on the way back from work on monday night. i stripped the fairing lowers off and it looks like the brake pipe has rubbed through the rad, with the forks compresing under braking the pipe touches the right hand side of the radiator and has left a nice groove in it. its allso stripped the coating of the brake pipe?
Just had the 12k service done and it was found that one of my header pipes was blowing due to the fact that a nut was missing. The mechanic said that he has experienced it before and says it is due to the little copper gasket contracting after time and allowing some play in the joint. Vibration then gradually loosens the nut and it spins off. It is difficult to spot and even harder to put right as the radiator has to be swung down to get to the nuts for tightening. I had no idea I had this problem.
Can anyone tell me just how scary the cost of services is.
think i'll retire from motorcycling and get a bmw 1150r
JUST BOUGHT AN RS ANYONE KNOW WHAT GRADE OF OIL FOR THE FORKS AND THE AIR GAP?
