I need to get a new set of tyres, ready for spring. The Metzler Mez 3's that came on it are looking shot now and just wondered what other riders were recomending from experience on the 7? I was thinking possibly Michelen Pilot Sport, or even the Rennsports. Your advice would be welcome.... shanem
Can anyone help me find some rearsets for my 7R. I have looked all over the net and unless you are willing to spend %XA3250 they dont seem to exist. Even jack up plates would do??
My brother had 2004 ZX10R & recently swaped it with new 2006 model. We both absolutely hate the rear end with the exausts. The full Akrapovic titanium system from the 2004 bike (high level side exit), the 2004 seat cowl and the Ohlins aftermarket shock will fit perfectly on to the new 2006 bike without any alterations, drilling or fuss. We've just done it and the bike looks 10 times better compared to the rear of the showroom 2006 bike.
Hi, I currently own a ZX9R, or maybe that should be I did own one... I put it under a bus just over a week ago. The bus made a pretty fair stab at destroying it and so it has a bent frame and no front end to speak of. after reading some stories, as a newbie, i thought i was the only one to cross swords with K.UK AT BOURNE END . they just keep telling me to go to a dealer of my choice to sort out my MAJOR engine problem. guess what, all the dealers iv,e spoken to no one has stripped and rebuilt a zx10 motor. how much confidence does that give me? VALE at middlewich cheshire supplied the bike new last sept, but are no longer kwak agents, whoops where does that leave me? other dealers are reluctant to get involved cause they,ll loose money ...
just done 1500 miles only to find water leak frompin hole in crankcase. anyone had similar problem? where did you get rebuild done under warranty?i,m not pleased about having engine stripped and rebuilt but K.UK says they wont swap motor but rebuild under warranty terms.talk about devastated!
Hi all , Anybody experienceing braking probs ? My brakes were great when I first got the bike however by the time 4000 miles service was due I asked dealer to have a good look at them as lever was coming way back to bar especially when been used hard. Pads etc were fine so they tripped and cleaned the calipers but no better. They suggested braided hoses (HEL 's) which have been fitted and they were awesome again. However 3000 miles later and there is a lot of lever movement again ! Pads look ok wear wise to me ...
Well, I pick up my new ZX10R on Saturday (in Black) and I'm suddenly confused on how exactley to run her in! Never bought a new bike before-always been run in already. So what is the best way-do I ride off the fore court front wheel in the air or do I just release the clutch enough to get me on my way!? The guy in the shop recommends I take the throttle half way for the first 600 miles-oil change and then crack on... I kind of wish I'd bought second hand again! Whadoido?
Has anyone tried the EBC HH pads over the stock items with standard hoses and seen any improvement in initial lever response? Thanks
