traveling with a dog

Hi all Im trying to find out if carrying a 12kg dog in a proper ventelated cage on the  rack which the top box locks onto. I have tried the RSPCA and the local police but there dosent seem to be a definitive answer also any of our French/ Spanish friends know the law relating this in there countrys

a group of 4 of us are travelling to the moto gp in germany in a months time , we will be travelling from ilmuiden (holland) to Gera (germany) has anyone got any suggested routes we can take , we want to avoid the autobahn as much as possible

Great campsite in Dumfries and Galloway.

My mate and I visited a great wee campsite just outside Newton Stewart called Balloch O'Dee. It's worth a visit. Great roads to Newcastleton and through the New Galloway forest.Here's a wee trip report I done.http://yodagoat.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/balloch-odee.html Cheers Mike

Tripping arround europe.

Hello, I am currently working on a trip from Leeds to Lithuania my plan is to go to Paris, Zurich,  Venice, Vienna, Prague and then Poland and Lithuania where I have been given a summer job. The plan is to set off around 7ish of July.  Just wonderring for tips and maybe some nice routes and even if anyone would like to join me and then seperate at prague or elswhere. Turkey

Planning to bring my bike from Dubai to UK in July however my insurer here RSA does not offer cover outside GCC. Flying the bike to Turkey going to buy insurance at border and then ride through Greece, Italy, Switzerland,France then UK. If I buy insurance in Turkey will it cover me all the way to UK. The bike will then be shipped back to Dubai. Any info would be appreciated.

newcastle to Bala wales

I'm leaving Newcastle upon Tyne and heading down to bala in north wales for friends birthday.Got the Friday to ride down and sat nav tells me takes 4 hours on main roads.so do i blast down in 4 hours then do some routes around wales or should i do snake pass plus cat and fiddle on route?need to get wales for 9pm.any thoughts be grand.

France: compulsory reflective stickers on all helmets

following on from the reflective clothing thread...March 16, 2013 Unfortunately, there has been for some time another (stupid) piece of legislation forcing all bikers in France, whether residents or visitors, to wear a helmet with reflective stickers on, and this one has not been scrapped. Bikers caught wearing a helmet without stickers may face a 135 euros fine payable on the spot and 3 points taken off their licence.
