vtr 1000 front brake problem

I can't seem to get the pin out that holds the pads in on the front brakes of a 2002 honda vtr 1000.Is there a special tool or can you use a normal screw driver? .It doesn,t seem to want to budge with the latter even after spraying it with some WD40.

VTR fuel valve

I've had a running problem with my VTR Firestorm for ages. It's been in & out of the dealer's many times but they haven't managed to fix it.Yesterday I decided to have a go myself & stripped the fuel system, only to find the diaphragm in the fuel valve was split.I went back to my friendly Honda dealer to get the part & am told that I can only order the complete valve at a cost of %XA3150.Does anyone know whether I can purchase the diaphragm on it's own from somewhere without spending %XA3150?

VTR firestorm smoking exhaust

Hi, I've just started up my VTR after its been sitting around in the cold for a fair few fews and it started first time! (the good bit) However, when i stopped the engine, there was  white smoke out of the right hand exhaust which carried on rising out for a few mins after stopping?! I've never noticed this before but i also usually dont start it cold in a wind free place such as the garage..? Should I be worried at all or is this normal after a winter? (condensation etc..?) Help appreciated! Thanks!

VTR Firestorm Engine noise !!!!!

I have put a second hand crank in my VTR as I blew the last one, and it damaged the crank, so I purchased a crank and used the codes on the crank for the coloured shells, but when I started the bike up it still knocks even though all components where free from play when I assembled the engine.I have also given it a blast up the road and it still goes well but theres more vibration that there used to be.Heres the questions:1. If I've got the timing off can this give off a ...

vtr cam chains

Has anyone out there had a cam chain go on their vtr firestorm? Mine recently went on my 2000 vtr no warning, nothing.Having only done 15521 miles i am gutted it has left me with a repair bill in excess of %XA3350 (bent valves, exhaust valves, shims, oil, filter, timing etc) all needed to be done,(had the other one replaced while i was at it) so be warned check your cam chains before its to late.
