I am torn between buying a honda pan european st1300 or bmw r1200rt, both bikes i have looked at are under 15000 miles and are in good condition, does anyone have any history about these bikes, i know this may come down to personal preferance. Also as i am living in Turkey will the bmw have any problems being air cooled?Any help or input would be very apreciated

I am living in Turkey, and have seen a 2004 Honda Pan European for sale, which seems to be in very good condition, it has covered 49000 km, 30,000 miles. are there any problems which i should look for, with this sort of mileage.

Working at Farnborough Airshow last year and a lunatic on a Pan European DELIBERATELY took me out during the course of my job. It went to court and I couldn't attend due to last minute transport problems. I was pretty black an blue and still have grief from my hip almost 12 months on. Been advised I can't claim anything today. Is this correct or have I got options? Thanks in advance.

I am new to 'sporsbikes' well....to the riding position...I have this new little CBR250R and although the riding position is not as extreme as on other sportsbikes, it is giving me pain in my cervical spine area after only 20 minutes in the ride!I have 'sussed out' things to make it better but I can't eliminate the problem! If I ride keeping my arms straight and my back straight and my head pointing more downwards keeping my spine as straight as possible I alleviate the problem a bit but I can't eliminate it!!!I can't carry on like this!I ...

Hi, so far I have been riding only bikes with ABS breaks (Hornet 600, CBF 1000, Pan European 1300). Just now due to very difficult financial situation I could no longer keep my Pan European and had to 'down-grade' to something more economical to run , never mind.....anyway I now have one of those new CBR250R and they don't come with ABS (yet, they may do later but the one I have does not have ABS).I have been riding for 4 years now, I would consider myself a 'good rider', I have done the Rospa training for example ...

hi, All I seem to see in mags etc is people doing pan-european tours on 'big bikes' 1000cc+ and rarely anything smaller. I've got a 2009 650 banditS with hard luggage and was intending to do south of spain to UK and back with the missus on the back. Is my bike too small to consider this? I was hoping not as I'm not in a rush and with a decent set of bridgestone bt023's I was optimistically thinking it would be fine. Any reason anyone can think of why I shouldn't consider the trip? Cheers, GM

I`m sure this question must have been asked before but anyway!!! Which tourer would you buy? Today I have test ridden a New Pan European, I was very impressed on the whole, I currently ride a Fazer 1000 mk 1, Is the FJR 1300 a better bike, I think it is better looking? What do you think? JYP
