A person selling a Honda 650 Transalp ( XL ? ) for %XA3999 on Gumtree. Claims it needs an oil seal changing behind the front chain sprocket ! Says " Its weeping oil slightly and the oil seal needs changing " . " It`s a quick pull out and pop in job " and the oil seal " is just a few quid " . (or words to that effect .). From my experience of oil seal changes my instinct tells me that it`s an engine out job and the crankcases split . Surely the oil seal has pressure behind ...
So I took a fellow forums members advise and decided to go for a mt07 as my first 'big bike'. I went down to my nearest yamaha dealer today to only find out there's a waiting list until around November. Does anyone have any alternative bikes I should consider or do you think it's best I wait until the end of the year?
I have had my hornet for 3 and half years and want something different. I want another naked bike but im not sure which. I don't ride ridiculously fast on ride out, I don't exceed 100. I do most of my riding in country roads and enjoy throwing the bike around and want a good handling bike. Im torn between getting a fz6 or moving onto something a with a bit more grunt.I really like the top end rush of the hornet but im finding the rear shock (its a 98) is now very worn and the bike is pogoing around a bit hence looking for a change. I want ...
Hi all!I am looking to buy a new sportsbike and am trying to weigh up the financial benefits of running a 600cc vs 1000cc.I do not own a car and use my bike all year round including my 30+mile daily commute, and at least one night a week a ride out.I am currently running a GSXR 1000 K4 and have nothing but praise for it, about as practical as a superbike can be in my view.Looking around I can't really see much difference in running costs between 600's and 1000's. For example, tax would be the same unless the bike ...

Hi All,After weighing up the options, I've finally decided to make a change from my triumph speed triple and move towards a touring bike. Ive tried a few and have settled on the BMW R1200RT but I'm having a problem sourcing one with the right spec, age, miles and price. After some searching Ive found exactly what i want, but not the colour I was after. I was looking for blue and its sand biege. I cant make my mind up whether to bite the bullet and buy it or hold off and keep looking. It's not the worst colour in the world, but ...
Ok, if you had %XA36-6.5k to spend on a sportsbike what would it be? Changing the ZX10R (C2H) in for something else, looking at the options of buying used.
Can anyone suggest where I can find out how much an older bike is worth? I'm looking at a 1989 Kawasaki ZL1000 online but I'm struggling to find a suggested price range. Thanks
