Unknown offender

Recently I was involved in a single vehicle accident caused by a massive spillage of oil on a bend of a country road, luckily my only injuries where a couple of bruised ribs and a sprained thumb, my bike however is currently under assessment for repair or possibly written off, unfortunately no one knows the cause of the spillage so I am unable to recover any losses from a third party i.e. damaged riding gear and insurance excesses, the police aren't interested as it was a SVA and no damage was caused to street furniture etc, the local council cannot ...
