Hey. I need a bike to get me about and to university and back. I'm going to Manchester and I live in Essex, so I need a good reliable bike. I also need to have the bike restricted to 33bhp. Does anyone know if the 600 Bandit is a good bike when restricted? Any advice would be gladly received Thanks
I bought my first bike ( a 96' Bandit 600) about six months ago and my oil cooler has start leaking. It's not leaking a hugh amount but is dripping onto the pipes and smokes like crazy. Does anybody know where I could get a new (or decent used) oil cooler and if it's a job I could do with my hayes manual? Any help would be great. Thanks
Hi all, I have just purchased my first bike, a Bandit 600S and am over the moon with it. It is an R reg 1998 S model and has only had one owner from new with only 6800 on the clock! It is in mint condition though obviously not used much, with complet service history. I am having trouble starting it on cold mornings however, has anyone got any tips? It has had the carb icing mods done so does have little carb heaters, how long should I leave the ignition on for the carbs to warm up before I ...
Can anyone help. Need a new back tyre for my Bandit 600. It has Avons fitted at present, the front is like new so theres no need to buy a pair. Front has a 120/60ZR17 AV 27 compound rating. Rear has a 150/60ZR17 Azaro Sport AV 40 compound rating. Can anyone suggest a rear trye to match the compound on the front. Thanks
my 1997 bandit had a scorpion end can on when i bought it, when travelling at low speeds(30-40) it pops and bangs and doesnt run smooth. from a standstill there is a short delay till revs kick in.(embarrassing being beaten away from lights by transit vans).The bike runs fine at higher speeds. this is my first bike and am really pleased with it despite this minor niggle. any ideas? thanks guys.
quick question got a pair of Dunlop Sportmax D207s on and have been running at book pressures. (33 front, 36 rear) and I seem to be getting quite alot of vibes through the bars. I'm due a new front (on order) but can anyone suggest better pressures for the odd hot day we have?
I have recentley bought a 1995 Bandit 6. It is a great bike apart from one thing, vibration!! I am only getting the vibrations as the rev counter passes 6000rpm. anywhere below that it is very smooth. Can anyone suggest a way of curing the vibrations or is it something I am going to have to live with??
Without making reference sexually to the subject, I need your help. I have a bandit 600X (1998 plate) The tail assembly is hanging off since I seem to have lost a screw. Is this is a specialist screw or will I be OK with a normal bolt. I have the haynes guide but it doesn't mention what I need. I will be able to repair it no problem, I just need to know if I can get the proper screw from anywhere. kindest regards Bayf
Hi all, A few days back my bike 2002 Bandit 600 was blown over in some strong wind (because of the Givi mono-rack, a "medium" Oxford cover is slightly too small to go down to the ground and I think it ended up acting as a sail). It escaped largely unscathed given the scratches in the tarmac -- the right bar-end was bent and the front indicator smashed, but those are easy to repair. I'm a bit more worried about a small crack in the rear bodywork, just under the seat where it comes to the shiny bits that cover ...
