Has anyone out there had a cam chain go on their vtr firestorm? Mine recently went on my 2000 vtr no warning, nothing.Having only done 15521 miles i am gutted it has left me with a repair bill in excess of %XA3350 (bent valves,exhaust valves,shims,oil, filter, timing etc) all needed to be done,(had the other one replaced while i was at it) so be warned check your cam chains before its to late.

Folks, looking for some advice. Ive always wanted a VTR sp2, now ive found one for sale and it looks a decent deal. Its %XA36000, has done 4000 miles and is a 2005 model. What i want to know though is what is this bike like to live with? I only ride on dry days and normally on weekends in the summer, ie no winter riding. I know the history of the VTR's so know what they where designed to do, but how agile is this bike, whats the power delivery like? I will be coming from a daytona 675, ...

my baby was found and returned to me yesturday but it has quite abit of damage, but mainly top yoke and locks are all it really needs to be put back on the road, if the insurance right it off, do you think i should buy it back and repair it. if so should i then keep it or sell it, please help i really don't know what to do.

anyone got one? my local shop has one for %XA32200 and if I chop in the viffer and the XBR I should cover it. would love some reviews folks as I'm seriously tempted. oh and it's yellow which is the little 'monsta's favourite colour.

Or is it normal to constantly lust after other bikes even when the one you've got ticks all the boxes? In 7yrs of riding Ive had 7 bikes, all very different and equally good in their own way but still I get seem to get bored quickly. Ive only had my latest (VTR Firestorm) for 3 months which I absolutely love and the missus has already caught me gazing longingly thru MCN and Autotrader! Is there a cure for this problem?
