Great bikes but please consider my experience of how BMW trated me when the dealer screwed up... www.bmwlemon.com/dontbmwcare.htm
It's a lot more than a Super Blackbird. Is it a price you think is worth paying?
Does anybody find the seat on this bike unbearable. I cannot fault the bike in any other respect but the seat after about 100 miles feels like a board. BMW attitude is !. You test rode it you must have known what it was going to be like. .2 If its that bad then they will probably change it on the updated model whenever that comes out. Not much of a consolation for some immenent long distance journeys
been looking at buying one of these bikes 2nd hand, but not sure which one to go for. i have never had a bmw before, so not sure what to expect, having heard tales of batterys and engine/drive seals needing replacing at low milages, any body else had problems i should know about i like the look of the 1150 to the 1200's rather plasticy fairing, a dealer i spoke to said the 1200 was far better bike but it was nearly 4 grand more. thanks kevin.
Help me......... I got 2001 R1100ss, dumped the cat, power chipped it, K&N filtered it, performance plugs.. and I still can't get the speedo to read more than 135mph....what the...is going on? It pumches it's way upto 135, then...nowt is there a speed limiter etc I need to dump?
Help! I'm after some feedback on the older model (ie upto 2005) K1200GT, as I'm considering buying a '03/04 model. MCN shows only a review on the new model, and Parker's doesn't include a listing for GTs at all. What should I look out for when buying one (probably from a dealer), and what does it cost to run etc. Any info welcome.
Paul Dickinson covered 80,000 miles on his BMW R1150RT and has just got an R1200RT. He sent in this comparison test and I thought it was to good not to share. Let me know your thoughts on the bike by posting here or emailing me by clicking here This Boxer has No Gloves - Tickle my tummy's definitive road test of the new BMW R1200RT - for the people. There are road tests, even more road tests and there's this one that I've written below. It's my serious attempt at an objective road test of the controversial new RT. ...
BMW seems to support its dealerships on the sale of Stolen/Recovered motorcycles, e.g. I bought a %XA35,200 BMW R1100RT from an authorised BMW dealership in Rednall, Birmingham to find out 2 months later the bike had been Stolen/Recovered, re-stamped by police put together and sold to BMW who knew it had been restamped and sold it on regardless.. motto of "history known, future guaranteed" is BullS**T
Can we have some feedback regarding the k1200s seeing that the bike is on sale, and i would imagine that must be some bikes on the road.
