I'm stripping an engine I bought as a spare. It came from a fire damaged bike and some of the water used to put it out has got into the engine. It's a G650X series BMW lump.I've stripped the oil pumps and found emulsified oil in both, just a little so I don't think it was running for long after the water got in.I'm waiting for my flywheel puller to arrive so I can split the cases, but in the meantime I'm after some advice. The mains are plain shell so I'm not worried about corrosion on them. The pressurised oil travels ...
Hello to all, I have just registered so first let me introduce myself : I'm French (nobody's perfect ), 46 years old and I live in the middle of France in a beautiful area called Auvergne. I own 2 Voxans, a cafe racer and a roadster, a Harley 883 and an old PX200. I ride my bikes on the road and on track days (cafe racer). I wasn't able to ride since August 2013 because of a bike accident which left me with a broken ankle so to catch up those missed miles, I plan to cross the ...
Hi I have a Cbr600f 2002 model with 27000 miles on the clock. It was turned into a track bike in 2011 by a reputable garage with approx 24500 miles showing and sold to the person I bought it from in 2013. I carried out a service including a valve clearance check, to find by my reckoning most of the clearances to be tight. Exhaust clearances averaged 0.18mm, inlet 0.1 - 0.13mm(haynes manual states exhaust 0.25 - 0.31, inlet 0.17 - 0.23 with cam chain tensioner retracted). Took all the shims (which ranged from 1.975 - 2.12)out, did the necessary ...
Hi guys,I've got a charging problem with my KTM Duke 125. I was at traffic lights and a low battery warning came up on the screen and then the bike cut out. I tried bump starting it to no avail. Ended up trailering it home and charged the battery. I then tried to start it but there was an engine manangement warning light on the dash, it was 2 short flashes followed by 4 long flashes, ktm uk said its a battery voltage signal too low. I charged the battery up to around 13.6v put it on the bike and ...
Hey everyone, I need a new exhaust system for my cbr600 jellymould. I am wondering if any of the later models will fit mine? The cbr600fm for example looks very similar.
I have purchased a pair of boots on E-bay and the description says 'Alpinestars GP Pro'. However the toe sliders are missing. They are fixed by velcro but I am not sure where to obtain replacements. I have been in touch with Demon Tweeks and also the supplier but neither of them have responded .Created 06 April 2014 10:34 by nige0911

Well, the Lexmoto has packed up again! This time it won't start! I've rung a bike garage in Kings Lynn and they can't fit it in until next week, and it'll be expensive. Therefore would love to do it myself. Plus it's all good experience! So far I've done the following:Checked for a spark and its sparking fine.Noticed the plug was dry so not getting fuel. Checked all fuel pipes for blockages and all seems fine. Checked the vacuum tap on bottom of the tank (sucked on the vacuum hose and fuel comes out of the other nozzle so is fine).Had the carburretor ...

HiI am looking to replace the original pirelli supercorsa diablo tyres on my 2012 Tuono RSV4 APRC and was looking for something almost as sporty but with improved longevity. I'm looking for something like Bridgestone BT30 but the recommended rear tyre seems to be a 190/50 17 instead of the 190/55 17 as other manufacturers. Would this different profile create a problem with the APRC electronics and is this model tyre considered a good choice? Many thanksSteve
