Hi all, the bike in question is a 2004 z1000 The bike is down on compression on all cylinders 3 are down by about 20-25 and cylinder 2 is down by 30. It as just had new spark plugs fitted, it was in the garge due to every bad petrol it as. It has been cleaned and is now running better just the compression is down, the only is it's got a after market arrows back can on (would a power commander sort this) !

I dont know too much about engine performance. I'm looking to buy a 600(ish) bike to last me two years, but heard that restrictor kit's can cause certain engines to perform badly, even degrade. When looking to buy, is there anything I should completely avoid if im wanting to restrict to 47hp? Thanks for reading. :DP.S - Sorry if im spouting total rubbish
hope you can help,i have a uk reg cb1300 2008 naked,and i need the co2 emmision reading offical so can export it to spain where i live now i have asked honda uk and they say that get this they do not know how can they not know ,but i am getting upset now as asked cb 1300 owners club but no one knows,but i need a offical headed paper with the reading on as will cost 1000euros if i can not find it i think it is about 97g hope mcn can find out for me here ...

Hi, I have done a top end rebuild on my 64 3TA. New rings, valves, guides & springs. When I fired the engine up it was smoking really, really bad from the left hand exhaust. I took off the rocker boxes & head. Checked everything over & could not seen any problems. The pistons are fitting well in the barrels, no scoring. After putting it back together, same thing. I ran the engine a short time with the rocker feed pipe removed to see if it was oil coming into the combustion chamber from the rockers, ...
I installed a 5" forward extension kit on my XVS1100 floorboard/controls. Watched every you-tube clip on all types of kits etc & now can't get anything other than 1st & neutral.Basically they all state to remove control assembly, install extension member; then thread in adjuster-rod/linkage to spline lever. Re-fit forward assembly to extension, keeping lever-positions in relation to eachother as per original. Adjust spline lever if needed to get foot clearance, fine-tune with linkage/rod.All I got was 1st & neutral, couldn't for the life of me get anymore no matter how much I adjusted...readjusted, readjusted. Then I rocked it in 1st ...
Hi all, im wondering what bulbs i might be able to use improve the headlight on my bike? As far as i know the one in it now is standard and a bit lacking in brightness.Would there be any current or load problems if i upgrade? Cheers.
I have a 94 gpz500s which runs fine for a while, then will want to stall when the revs drop. it seems to shut down on the right hand cyclinder, but kicks in and runs ok if i turn the fuel tap off untill it runs out. would it be a faulty fuel tap, the 2 carbs adjusted differently so 1 runs richer or leaner, or maybe the carbs need balancing? i can ride it ok but gets a bit annoying having to turn the tap on and off all the time to keep it running ok
I have a Suzuki GS500E and she runs perfectly for me and never brakes down. But when shes at about 5,000rpm theres a lot of vibration coming from the engine, which stops after i pass roughly 5,500rpm. Any got some advice on what it might be? Thanks
