Honda CBX 750 poor running

Hi, I have a 1986 Honda CBX750F which is leaving me stumped. It starts absolutely fine and runs ok for a few minutes, then it runs rough, the power starts dropping, it won't rev and cuts out if the throttle isn't held open. It will restart again immediately but is very rough and dies when trying to pull away. If it is left overnight, it will start and run fine again for a few minutes until the problems set in again. I have had the carbs apart and cleaned them completely and also checked the fuel lines are clear, cleaned ...

Electrical Issues

Hi guysI have a 2007 Honda CBX 250 Twister. I've just had the charging system repaired and a full service done on the bike, including a new battery. However, after riding less than 60 km's on the bike it spluttered and died. the bike was taken in to the shop that did the repair work, but they could find nothing wrong. changing out the battery seemed to fix the problem, but this was the 2nd brand new battery I've put in the bike and killed within 60 km's. it is worth noting that both batteries were of the same make and ...

The 1980s %XA31,500 What Bike thead

Hi All,I have between %XA31,500 and %XA32,000 to spend on a 1980s-90s motorbike and have created a short list for which I would very much like your input on.Some background - I am a fairly new motorcycle rider and am not keen on anything too high revving or fast. My main reason for having a motorbike is to get in and around London and the odd cross-country tour 2-4 times per year. I learnt to ride last year on a tYamaha TZR 125 and since then have had a CBR125, CB400 Superdream, a Kawasaki GPX250R and and Aprilia Pegaso 650.I ...

CBX750 Starter motor

I have an 86 Honda CBX 750 FE.  I've had it for some time and use it for my daily commute.  Problem is the starter motor has gone, and the local garage say its beyond repair. I'm having no joy with the breakers near me, and ebay so far isn't coming up with anything either.  Does anyone know of any links/sites etc that could show the same part on other bikes so I can extend the search? Thanks.

Importing Parts...

im 18 and i own a Honda CBF 250 (also known as CBX 250 Twister), in the UK there is bugger all in the way of accessories available for it, yet when i look on youtube, i see them with fairings, racing exhausts, etc also on ebay i found a Hagon Rear Shocker that is said to improve handling and general ride comfort, im not all that knowledgeable about these things so could anyone vouch for the difference it would make? and just some general advice on whether importing is wise or not?
