I am thinking of buying a new 749 but after reading the problems some have experienced with the old 2004 model with stalling I'm not so sure. Does any one know if the 06 is any more reliable? Considering a 749 or an new 03 model aprilia rsv 1000 Thanks
I've heard ther is a stalling problem with the 749s.I picked mine up yesterday and it did cut out at the lights more than once, hoping its a running in thing? Anyone heard anything about this? Otherwise its early days but it couldn't be more different than my zx636!!!!
O.k. lets get started on this one, anyone run out of fuel yet, and therefore have the definitive answer? I sadly ran out whilst out on the test ride, which wasn't even helpful, as i dunno how much was in it to start with. The light was on when i picked it up, and the guy says "it'll be fine mate" when i asked if it needed filling up. apparently he meant "it'll be fine to get you to the garage" donut. I used to have a 748 (hence the user name) that would do 120 till the light came ...
Is it common to get vibrations at about 9k to 10k revs? It is a quite harsh sensation coming through the handlebars. Comments greatly received
Just a one bad point about the 749/999 rrsend number plate bracket. Everything was fine with the bracket but the acorn nuts that were suppiled with the kit to replace the original bracket nuts were the wrong size so they didn't fit. It only took a vist to my local motor spares shop to get some that did fit. I also recomend using acorn nuts on all the exhaust fitings ie the electrics tube because they sheild the threads form crud that gets flicked up from the road.
Has anyone put one of these bike powered autocoms on a 749? If so where did you mount it and where did you take the live feed from Many thanks in advance
anyone agree with me but the tank pad which is fitted is rubbish, when ever i get back i have to polish marks off the top of the tank, i got so fed up i ordered a flexible ducati tank pad and cut it down to fit on top of the tank, it looks really good and works well
Hi All, has anybody got any advice on making the 749 a bit more comfy?? I know theres a certain pain/pleasure theory for superbikes, but I use mine a lot in town and Im planning a trip to Spain (can you imagine!!). Are there any clipons for the 749? (Ive asked about but only Gilles do one, and thats including the yoke, at over %XA3230!). Do rearsets help?
Does anyone know how to take off the mirrors on the 749? got the manual, but there are some strange clips holding them in place and I cant seem to find out how to take them off....
