Ever since I saw those first pix of the 990 SD in MCN, I knew it was the bike for me. My deposit is down......and this could be the best bike on the planet....gibber!!!!

Just a word of warning - I had the r/h side panel off to fit heated grips and must have trapped the small black breather pipe. The result was fuel only feeding from the l/h side and a full r/h tank. The breather is vital to prevent an airlock and the air is taken from a wee hole behind the tank. I thought it was shit in the filter and had the cross feed hose off and cleaned the filters etc etc. Moral of the story is - check the simple stuff first. And now my opinion after two years ...
I bought the official lower gel seat for my 950 at just over %XA380. It is slightly lower but your feet don't touch the ground that much better, because your legs are still splayed quite widely. Because it is lower the ratios from bum to foot and bum to bars are altered slightly. This means that more weight goes through the gel seat. On an eight hundred mile trip I got 30+ miles with a rucksack before my bum got sore enough to notice. After about 150 miles I no longer noticed it. The next day I got further before ...
Hi, Was looking thru some previous threads and thought I maybe able to offer some luggage advice as some where looking for panniers etc. I used the ventura system on my old bike and it was fantastic. So when I bought the KTM I thought I would buy the panniers. I am not a fan of tank bags, so panniers it had to be! I thing the KTM units do look the biz. OK - a new thread for a new year ---- Hows your KTM doing so far this year? Iv'e just fitted heated grips (first time on any bike) I just have the final wiring to add different conections to and thats should be it. The aux conections fitted as std and wired through the fuses/ign switch are easy to get at - just behind the r/h side panel. The grips need small spades attached, I'll do that tonight.
