Fuel Flow

Just a word of warning - I had the r/h side panel off to fit heated grips and must have trapped the small black breather pipe. The result was fuel only feeding from the l/h side and a full r/h tank. The breather is vital to prevent an airlock and the air is taken from a wee hole behind the tank. I thought it was shit in the filter and had the cross feed hose off and cleaned the filters etc etc. Moral of the story is - check the simple stuff first. And now my opinion after two years ...

I bought the official lower gel seat for my 950 at just over %XA380. It is slightly lower but your feet don't touch the ground that much better, because your legs are still splayed quite widely. Because it is lower the ratios from bum to foot and bum to bars are altered slightly. This means that more weight goes through the gel seat. So when I bought the KTM I thought I would buy the panniers. I am not a fan of tank bags, so panniers it had to be! I thing the KTM units do look the biz. But I thought I would see if Ventura made a fitting kit for the KTM, and they did! Fantastic, no panniers, lots of luggage and real easy ...

2006 Update

OK - a new thread for a new year ---- Hows your KTM doing so far this year? Iv'e just fitted heated grips (first time on any bike) I just have the final wiring to add different conections to and thats should be it. The aux conections fitted as std and wired through the fuses/ign switch are easy to get at - just behind the r/h side panel. The grips need small spades attached, I'll do that tonight. Ride wise - I have been doing 20-30 mile rides most weekends just to keep the battery up, then it gets a ...
