Husqvarna SMS4 125 (2011-2012)

The SMS4 125 mirrors Husqvarna’s championship winning supermoto range and is equally exquisite in its detail. But is this enough for the Husqvarnas to make learner-legal off-road machinery as popular as Yamaha’s YZF-R125 has been for entry level sports bikes? The SMS4 125 isn’t the cheapest learner legal available at £3219 – but cheaper than the new Lambretta LN125 scooter ...

Exact Learner Legal Restrictions

My question is what exactly is the current legal learning restrictions, I know that you must be restricted to 35kw not exceeding 0.2kw per 1kg and not be derived from a vehicle of more than twice the restrictions product power ie never more than 70kw or 11kw at less than 0.1kw per 1kg for a 125.  Firstly must a 50cc moped have less than 0.1kw per 1kg with a maximum of 4kw?  Secondarily and more important is at what point in the drive train is the power measured, at the crank or at the wheel, how and by who, the government body ...

Suzuki SV650 47bhp legal exhaust

Hello motorcycling world,I am new to all of this, so please be kind. Today I bought myself a 2008 Suzuki SV650 Sport which I will need to restrict to 47bhp to meet the new A2 licencing laws. I was thinking about buying myself an aftermarket slip on exhaust, simply to unleash the V-Twin sound. My concern is that fitting an aftermarket exhaust will bring the BHP above the legal 47bhp, therefore making it illegal to ride and making my insurance void. Can anybody give me anymore information about this please, like am I perhaps looking into this too deeply? Is there ...

Choice of Legal Representation

Following an accident last week i was appointed the default legal representation by my insurance on a no win no fee.  I've not been impressed so far with them so yesterday lunch i rang my insurance to say that i wanted to change my legal represenation.  They said yes this is fine and contact the company to let them know.  I rang them to do this.  Then i setup things with the other company.  Then rang the insurance to confirm that this was done.I was then told by my insurance call centret told that I could only use the appointed solicitor ...

HID headlamp conversion kit-legal?

I know that DfT/Vosa are clamping down on aftermarket HID headlamp fitments on cars which will result in Mot failure. I want to fit an aftermarket HID to my bike to wake up the dozy car drivers-does anybody who is a mot tester or similar know the current legal position on this? Presumably I would have to tell the insurance company who will probably want to charge me more premium for making myself more visible.
