Tyres

I have owned my Sprint since November and had to replace the front tyre when I got it, as it was fitted with Mitchellin Pilot Sports, and the rear tyre was fine I had the same fitted to the front again, 2000 miles later I had a new rear tyre fitted, again a Mitchellin Pilot Sports. I have now done another 2500 miles, and both tyres look like they need replacing, especilallly the rear, as it has only done 2500m, I am thinking of changing to something that will last a bit longer. Can anyone suggest anything?

tyres

I run Bridgestone BT 020's they seem to be a good compromise as they are wearing well and give good feel especially in the wet. I toured Norway on them last year and had every kind of weather. Two up and fully loaded they never even twitched. On the RAT rideouts they handle the twisties brilliantly. Have you tried having a chat with your local Triumph dealer to see if they have a Sprint with different tyres for you to try the feel of? BRS

I followed the advice from BRS on this forum. Went with Bridgestone BT20's. Much better than original BT57. Put a slightly bigger tyre on the back.

Tyres

I had Michelin Road Pilots fitted to front and rear about 7000 miles ago and I reckon I've still got at least another 1000-2000 miles tread left on the rear, loads on the front. I've not exactly been going easy on them ;-) and must say the grip is superb in both wet and dry conditions. Rear tyre was slightly squared off (I have done quite a bit of touring so far this year) but not so much now as I've been having a lot of fun on the finest Scottish twisties recently which has rounded it off a wee bit again. I'll definately be fitting another set of these when the time comes around.
