New owner (possibly)

Hi, I'm looking at a '02 Busa at the moment and was wondering if there were any weak points that I should check before committing. Also, how can I check to see if it is imported i.e. French restricted. Is there a way by telling by the VIN No. The display seems to be in km. Can you change the display to read miles/km if you want. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. What years were affected by the camchain problem? and how can I tell the year by the VIN No. Thanks Tony

The camchain recall...

...was on the 1999 (X) and 2000 (Y)models. But check what model of Haybusa this is, there were a couple of years they didn't sell too well so new ones weren't imported - I know this happened in 2000 - I know this was 2000 (so no K1) and I think also in 2003 (so no K3???). Basically these bikes are rock solid, bought mine last year (had a B12s before), did 10K and am still totally in love with the thing. Apart from the rear tyre wear they're actually a pretty practical bike, plus they're fast as fcuk ;o)
