rsv factory

Been offered a good deal on my present bike, rrx fireblade, against a factory. Good & bad ponts ? Isee by the few posts here that clutch hydraulics are not a strong point. Any advice would be welcome cheers fogie.

rsv factory

have owned factory since march o4 . few niggly probs with rear brake kept goin soft . but front brake more than makes up for it, done without it for approx 2500 mls. including trip to le mans for gp`s. brought bike new from local bike shop who couldn`t fix problem but found reliable aprilia dealer who got it working reasonably well. got 6700 mls on clock now no major probs at all most miles done riding hard not a complaint from motor (145 mls done on trackdays at cadwell last year that`s when you really get to enjoy the bike A1 motor and chassis.... low sided it coming out of chicane trying to avoid numpty suddenly stopping on exit ... suprisingly not much damage to bike broken collar bone for me can`t wait to get back this year tho ) traded in mv when i got it took a bit of gettin used to after riding a four but wouldn`t swop it for anything else at the moment ... only recommendation i would make is to run it on rock trm oil .engine does not use it up, and oil performs excellently in all conditions

rear brake prob

> had 04 factory a few weeks now 2000 miles and the > rear brake has just gone soft, could you let me know > how you fit it > cheers phil rear brake is a bugger to get sorted, reliable mechanic who works on mine thinks master cylinder is too small for job and thinks brembo do a larger kit for it ? one thing to avoid is over adjusting the link rod on cylinder to get extra bite with less pressure on lever, even resting your foot slightly on lever could cause overheating disc and pads leading to brake locking on, cooking rear brake etc ... believe me it can happen . best advice is if its gone soft get your missus to sort it ... or bleed brake without adjusting and just get used to it the way it is. the slipper clutch works well with front brake. at the end of the day aprilia are more than aware there is a prob but recalling all those mille`s ain`t gonna happen. recently purchased new pads for mine after they wore out rather quickly !!!!! guy at `in moto` asked how i managed to get a rear brake working on a mille as i was only his second customer to buy a set in the last two years.... enough said...

rear brake and other probs

Hi guys, Im not a factory rider (gsxr6) but me mate is and hes had nothin but grief from his bike, bought brand new. Firstly hes had the same prob with the back brake, goin soft and not workin. What hes been told is the brake fluid in the rear cylinder is gettin over heated from the engine/bike frame! and so becomin useless (im not an engineer so cant speak the language) and told the same thing, dont fuckin touch it or it could lock up. Apparantly Aprilia have now recognised this at long last and should send a replacemnt kit to your dealer. Go see them...kick up a stink. Hey its not a design feature so its gonna fail on your mot! Whats more worrying is that his engine is now erraticly boggin down at low revs or even cuttin out. This is pant shitting when its cranked over. Initially his dealers techs said there was nothin wrong until they took the bike out for a spin several times and experienced it. The diagnostic was somethin like an emergency crawl home facility bought on by heavy breakin?? (their words). They fixed it then guess what? A week later its back. Hes havin to ride the twat high revin round bends feathering the front break, rossi style just so it dont stall. Any one out there have anythin similar happen? Hes gettin shut of the bike and lookin to sell his arrow race cans if any one is interested. THEY ARE LOUD.
