Hi I use R&G's on my ST. They are frame mounted. You take the top engine to frame bolts out, (look through the large hole in the main part of the side fairing and you will see the top mounting) turn them round and screw the protectors on. there's no fairing mods like cuting or drilling . It take's about 1 hour to fit them as you have to remove the petrol tank but they are a good strong fit and well worth the time it take's.

crash bobbins

Got mine from Jack Lilleys - they sound like they're just the same as the R&G's. They took about 10 mins to fit good luck BRS

You can normally buy them on ebay. I bought mine for £8. The last time I looked they were £10. Not sure how good they are though. They only fit onto the top fairing mounts. I got side swiped in France and they cracked my fairing. Probably would've only scraped it if they were not fitted. The type that fit into the engine bolts sound more like it. Mine probably only cosmetic. Hope this helps.
