2006 R1

Hi. My local dealer has offered to take my 11,000 mile GSXR750K5 plus £2500 against a pre reg (0 miles) 2006 R1. Previously I had a 2001 R1. Is there a huge difference between 06 & 07 models ?? If I wanted an 07 model it would be another £1500 to swap. Do I or don't I ?? Cheers Mike

.

The 07 is a completely new bike compared to the 06 which is the same as the 04,05 bikes with the exception of the 20mm longer swinging arm.

The 07 has better suspension with hig and low speed damping, it also has a slipper clutch, fly by wire throttle. I have not ridden the 07 but it does sound liek a great improvemement. I think the question you need to ask is do you think those improvements are worth the exra cash, is your riding ability really going to notice the differences. Also the 07 is 3kg heavier than the previous model. For me i am no riding god and my 05 06 reg bike is more than i can take to the limits already. If cash is no object, hell yeah get the latest model there is. For me i would go 06 and spend the 1500 quid on goodies :sunglasses:
