MIO

:smileAYUP! I USED A MIO DIGI WALKER IN GERMANY IN JUNE. PROBLEMS BEING ITS NOT TECHNICALLY DESIGNED TO USE ON A MOTORBIKE, THEREFORE NOT WATERPROOF AND HARD TO LISTEN TO WITH A NOISEY HELMET. THAT SAID IT GOT US AROUND WITHOUT TOO MUCH HASSLE! I'LL BE USING IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR TO GET TO ITALY BUT IT WILL BE HEAVILY HOME MODIFIED!

Garmin Zumo 550

Having read the reviews, I've been thinking about buying a Garmin Zumo 550 but going to wait till the prices come down a bit. Anyone got one or used one to comment on it?

Currently using TomTom Navigator on a Nokia N73 mobile phone with separate GPS receiver.

TomTom Rider

I have the version 1 and used it on tour last year to go through the Alps and it was spot on. really help knowing how sharp the next bend was.

It also heped on the way back when we stopped for petrol, only to find it only took French credit cards. A quick search on the TomTom and it guided us to a little village 2 miles away and it saved the day.

I would recommed it,and speaking to people who have Garmin it is easier to use.

Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money on a Satnav for touring, you will only see what you already know, the best times are getting lost or going off route and finding other places.

I toured around Europe last year through France Belguim Netherlands Germany Poland Czech Rep Slovakia Hungary Austria Switzerland without even a map.
