Casey Stoner confirms possible 2009 Ducati test

Reigning MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner has confirmed that he might test Ducati’s 2009 prototype machine in Barcelona next week. Test rider Vittoriano Gaureschi is due to ride an early version of the Ducati GP9 on Monday in the first public outing of the new bike in Catalunya. The bike has been tested extensively since March at Mugello and it is believed...

End of the Wibbly Wobbly?

So, Ducati are finally ditching their 'Instant Whip' tubular frame. Seems not even the skills of Stoner can keep Ducati in the hunt with that old dog. Presumably they're thinking of fielding the new 'un this year. Trouble is the last time Casey used a stiff frame (Honda 2006) he bit the dust every time, so it's a case then of will he win or will he crash!?

That's never enough for somebody..

like Jorge Aspar who wants to participate this poor project as far season goes on. No consistent Yamaha, no uncompetitive Suzuki (this is a good decicion to leave Suzi) so...Ducati. Wish you luck;) and Alice too;D isn't GP9 is a star contender?

Stoner crashing

I think Stoner was eating tarmac because of his front tyre, not the frame. How much does it cost to make a frame out of CF? Can't get the hammer to that to fix.

duc GP9

CF frames allow you to mess around with the weight distribution a bit more BUT they're difficult to repair and often have limited adjustability. (They also allow you to combine a few function together eg airbox AND frame etc so keeping the weight down . There's possibility that they can get a package that handles well but at least as much likelyhood they'll get an evil handling monster.
