KTM Super Duke (2005-current)

If all of life were like a KTM Super Duke it would be a short, barely glimpsed blur of action-packed vignettes. There is surely nothing more frenetic on two-wheels than the KTM 990 Super Duke short of sticking a nitrous kit, a jet turbine and a flame-thrower into the frame of a fold-up bicycle.   Watch the KTM Super Duke take...

The 990 High Grin Factor

This is one ride that defiantly makes you bad to the bone. Had mine since January and have found it the best all round road bike I’ve ever owned. Every time I kick up the side stand the fun begins. The sound as those straight through Akrapovic’s come on song as you power out of a bend is a joy to behold. The aggressive angular style is always a topic of conversation and I’m still surprised how many people come up and ask what it is or is it a special! I did put my name and deposit down for a RC8 but after reading the numerous reports about the gearbox and testing one for a couple of days, there was no comparison. The Super Duke wins in all areas, especially in the quality and comfort of the ride and the Dukes slick gearbox. I did find the Engine power more liner on the RC8 but boy can you hear every cog that turns in that engine! Anyway, did I mention that I found the 990 Super Duke to be the best all round road bike I’ve ever owned! Must try a 990R……
