Indianapolis MotoGP: Rossi wins red flagged rain soaked race

Valentino Rossi has taken the win in the second race of the day to be red flagged because of the rain at Indianapolis MotoGP. Rossi was in the lead with seven laps to go when race officials decided the wet conditions were getting too bad to race and put out the red flags. Normally the remaining laps of the race would be...

Giacomo's Record Falls

So the Dr has finally got the outright record for the greatest number of wins in the premier class. The occasion was made for it. Historic 1st race at Indianapolis atrocious weather conditions the Dr on pole and a worthy tussle with Nicky Hayden. At long last we were treated to a superb race considering the filthy weather conditions. How refreshing to hear only positives from the podium finishers and no bleating about tyres, injuries or some other imagined mythical ailment. A master class from the true GOAT Valentino. Ciao

Hayden at the sharp end

Good to see Nicky Hayden up front showing us what he can do. So pleased to see him thrash the poisoned spanish dwarf!

Amazing Scenes!

Quality race in the worst of conditions! an all-champion top 4 and hayden making the signing to ducati looking like a very practical move indeed. Even guintoli got a good score! And Lo! Casey finished a race (hehehe - i like him really).

How many MotoGP riders does it take to survive a hurricane? It was quite an incredible scene, seeing Rossi and Co. battling through such horrendous conditions. Hayden proving that he still has ridiculous talent and the scrap between him and Rossi was one of this seasons best. Amazing to see Rossi claim the all time top spot with 69 wins too and Ben Spies had a storming race, almost pegging Stoner before the red flag. Just a point about Dorna/organisers; how could they even think about a restart in such conditions? The momentary confusion aside, a good opening race from Indy.

Stoner 4th, Dovi 5th, Elbowz 6th.... But i'm guessing you knew this when you said Spies almost got stoner before it was red flagged... Anyway. Great to see Hayden up the front again. Pity we couldnt see him in the dry broadsiding it around that left hander... Soo f@#king good to see that... must get the 89 gp season to see some more of it...

Superb show from Nicky....bring on the Ducati with a bit more kick and I'm sure we will see more of this. He hasn't forgotten how to race. Best possible reply to the Pedrosa Mafia in his pit garage. Can't help thinking that Suzuki have made a mistake over looking Ben Spies to keep hold of Capirossi for another year. Surely he is the future? Hope he can find a seat for next year because he needs to be there now!
