Official picture: 2009 Suzuki GSX-R1000

Suzuki has just released the first official picture of the all-new 2009 GSX-R1000. The key change is an all new engine that is 59mm shorter than the outgoing K7/K8 model, allowing a longer swingarm, though the wheelbase is 10mm shorter at 1405mm.  The changes have been made to ‘increase agility and race track performance’ according to Suzuki. new GSXR

I wasn't expecting anything rad from the japanese but that's a bus having sex  with a chavvy sports shoe. I hate that curvy Micron-esque pipe aswell. Looks like a whale's cock.

Ok so it looks alright in black, but shouldn't new bikes be wowing us when we first see them not making us wonder what modifications we would have to make to get it looking good?

Also, is it just that the test rider is small or does this bike look big? Its not blade sized for sure. Not that its always a bad thing.

I agree with 'bobbyspiller' - exhausts look cock, could be good for wheelies though with all that weight over the back!

new 1000

well looks like i will be changing my name, suzuki have finally lost the plot. This bike just looks like 600 and 750s. So i will be changing my K7 750 for a blade, at least the Honda shows development from the outside and its just not about making the engine smaller.

Jus checked it out on the zuki site and Its definately aint no Jenna Jameson.Gota agree with some of the comments re how the current crop of Japanese superbikes are all looking S***E and are in need of of some serious cosmetic work.I mean yeh improve the engine, handling and components but why cosmetically change the bike aswell??..The bikes looked better a few years back.   The big exhust thing is getting out of hand largely I think due to the worlds ever increasing attemps to strangulate and steralise everything in the name of global warming....AAAAHHH bring me back the slingshots and 500 Gamma's
