Cops cut up dumped bike

Police found a bike whose owner they could not trace – and cut it to pieces in a show of zero tolerance for “anti-social” motorcycling. The tatty but classic Kawasaki Z550 was butchered with an angle grinder after officers found it dumped with a false number plate.   By the look of the picture, they didn’t even remove the fluids before...

Ok, so I haven't read the full story but regardless of that, did they really need to hack it to bits? Wouldn't it have been far easier/safer/more environmentally friendly/yadda yadda to sick it on the back of a pick up and take it to the scrappies?

The guy doing the angle grinding must have a death wish as I can see oil (and more than likely, petrol) pouring out of it while he lets the sparks fly!

The cops would have been far better off angle grinding the chav that nicked the thing into little pieces. No one need ever know ;)

Bully Boys............

Why is it that Police officer Andy Johnston said: “We want to make it clear that if motorbike riders persist in this sort of behaviour, this is how their machines could end up - being seized and cut up into pieces.”

This just makes the Police look no better than gangland thugs persecuting and threatening people by using bully boy techniques," "DO AS YOU ARE TOLD OR ELSE" attitude just breeds contempt and disrespect.

Lets be honest if the bike was stolen maybe it should be scrapped by why not do it in a civilised manner, if the dumb jerks thought about it the bike could be disposed of via breakers yards and all monitory proceeds could be put to good use to a charity ( like the heros fund).

I am sure the Government encorage this tpye of behaviour by producing adverts like tax disc evasion, car being crushed advert.

Well done Police well done Government you have just conmfirmed to everyone that you are nothing more than than a bunch of bully boys with no human principles left to be admired.
