Advice needed on the 2008 ZX10R

Lads & Lassies

I need your advice on the 2008 Kawasaki ZX10R Ninja....good or bad, a little twitchy or very twitchy, rear stability on corners particularly if not smooth, brakes, anything important...

I would prefer comments from people with direct experience of this bike rather than magazine reviews thanks....sorry for being direct !! Current bike is an 08 Fireblade...

Thanks in advance :smile!

Conditions where abit damp but nothing to worry about so you could still use as much power as you wanted. As for roads, my test track i use in glasgow is a mix of motor way, A roads and bumpy back roads with a few full lean roadabouts. Gives a good overall indication. Ive also used the same roads to test an rsv factory and a superduke along with my own 675.

as for my own ability, hard to say, may be better off asking sky, kam, dan, cullen or omayj. I dont like to hold back anyway on the roads i know. Suppose it all depends on what you want the bike for, ie track or fast road. You ride a blade at the minute so its obviously not out of your league and lets face it, its an 09 1000cc bike designed to destroy everything in its path, its never going to be a dog is it? One thing i will say though is this bike feels super light, i cant stress how much it feels like a 600 in size. Oh and the person i know that has one is omayj's boyfriend so she could give you better info than anyone.

Another thing i would suggest is putting a radiator guard on as soon as you get it. Kam managed to destroy garys with a huge stone one of the first days they where out on it.

thanks again :smile!. I am picking my blade up this afternoon....it has just had its radiator replaced....a stone thro' it, new tyres & brake pads...very expensive indeed. A guard is a good idea thanks.

Weird or what....

I got an email to my work account over the weekend entitled 'ZX10R', and reads:

***

Hi Des

We spoke around a year ago about getting you on to a Kawasaki ZX10R.

Unfortunately at the time we couldn't get you on to one, but we are now selling cheaper than anyone else in the country.

If you are interested then please give me a bell on the number below, any day except Tuesdays.

Regards

If you do get one junk the standard Ohlins steering damper.  They just dont work.  The Ohlins you buy off the shelf are totally different and far superior to the one they put on the Kwackacrappy..

I dont know anything about them.  Are they the ones that sit on top of the yolk?  If they are a few of the lads have got them and I havnt heard anything bad about them......

But anything would be better than the standard Kawasaki Ohlins unit. Iv seen more damping in a very dry non-damping thing..
