Gurkhas

Just wondered what peoples thoughts where about wether these brave soldiers that fought and died for our country should be given the right to settle in the UK.

Professor Sir Ralph Turner, MC, who served with the 3rd Queen Alexandra's Own Gurkha Rifles in the First World War, wrote of Gurkhas:

As I write these last words, my thoughts return to you who were my comrades, the stubborn and indomitable peasants of Nepal. Once more I hear the laughter with which you greeted every hardship. Once more I see you in your bivouacs or about your fires, on forced march or in the trenches, now shivering with wet and cold, now scorched by a pitiless and burning sun. Uncomplaining you endure hunger and thirst and wounds; and at the last your unwavering lines disappear into the smoke and wrath of battle. Bravest of the brave, most generous of the generous, never had country more faithful friends than you.

Gurkhas

Well I didn't know there was a patition so I will go and sign it now. I have allready wrote to number 10 a few days ago.

As for a ride out to number 10, sounds like a good idea.

We would have to make sure the press are aware of when and why. Hey we could camp out for the weekend I'd like to see em try and move us

Hey if it was organised by MCN it might get even more attention or are they remaining on the fence.

Why do the goverment take no notice of the public, I think its pretty obvious that the majority of the population is on the Gurkhas side.
