Reborn bike firm JAP asks MCN readers: “Name our bike”

British engine firm and one-time bike manufacturer JAP is back after 101 years in the wilderness and they want your help naming their new bike. They’re building an exclusive range of bikes based around an updated version of their classic twin-cam 50 degree V-twin. JAP Naming

Name needs to begin with (hard)C, D, (hard)G, K, Q, S or T to trip nicely off the tongue:  'Cardson' ?  'Diva' ?   'Goa' ?   'Kempton' ?   'Quantum' ?     'Slipper' ?    'Terra' ?

JAP twin

I proposed "Cardinal" that works on a few levels...(kinda)...

Card- after the blokes who own the JAP name. Cardinal meaning 'of importance' and Cardinal Twin to sound like, well, you know!!!

Oooh, here comes the med. trolley.

Name that JAP

My suggestion is.... Bristol Blenheim

  • Powerful & Fast: after the WW2 aircraft (fast and spacious / reduce drag)
  • British Sounding: Bristol Channel, pretty English to me
  • Blenheim: Blenheim Palace – The British Monachy

JAP engines were used in aircraft when 1st built
