I have a cbr400 gullarm and have just bought a track micron can from BMF which i will be using on the road, will it be legal if i put a baffle in it?

It's not to do with the noise - which is what your baffle has cured - it's because it's not certified and it's the certificate that counts.

It's your gamble.

Lately they do tend to inspect bikes that they pull over. I've been pulled over many times for 'random checks' as they say - cos I hadn't actually done anything wrong.

I'd expect they'd issue you with some form of non-compliance notice and to produce your documents at the station - that tends to be usual practise. Although if you get a friendly cop they may just wave you on or just ignore it and say 'nice bike'. Either way you may think a small fine or something is nothing in the grand scheme of things - it's not the kind of thing you'd get points for.

With the baffle you are more likely to get away with it as unless they hear you from a mile away they may not think to check. It's up to you if you want to risk it. Personally I've never had a word mentioned about my number plate being 15mm too small in the lettering or not having baffles in my exhausts and have been stopped twice like that.
