Hi all, I have found that when i am cornering quickly i can get my knee which i have to say feels good, but i ride a 1200cc bandit which i know is not a sports bike but it seems like it is fighting through the corner. So is it that only sports bikes corner smoothly or do i need to tweek the setup on my bike. And just to say that my tyres are michelin pilot's loads of tred and up to the right presure?

Well, like you said, the Bandit probably ain the best choice for kee down shennanigans tbh.  Due to the suspension being quite soft and a steep rake angle on the front suspension, it is going to feel a tad unstable and big lean angles and high corner speed.

Also the fact that the bandit has wide bars could be an issue too.  The bumps in the road and twitches are going to be more exagerated when they reach your arms, and you could, unintentionally be putting more input back down the bars than you intend too.... Perhaps a steering damper would sort some of that out.
You could try firming the suspension up a bit and see where that gets you.  But if it is massively throwing a strop, then I doubt the range of adjustment is going to get it perfect....

Just enjoy the fact that you can do it. And keep the scratching for the odd roundabout.  Not many can get the Bandit to knee down territory. :smile

I had a gsxr600 before i got my bandit which handled lovely in corners but cummuting was getting uncomfortable which is why i have my bandit. i want the sports bike but with the bandits comfort, O well you cant have it all i guess i will try the suspension adjustment. cheers once again:smile

My 600 bandit wont do knee down territory either, my bruv sorted the suspension and took it for a spin, still not good too much wobble!

Before yah ask I let him try as he rides a 'BLADE' and is knee down mad..!:biggrin:

seen a picture of a nutter doing kneedown on a goldwing, think the trick is to really hang off, drop your shoulder so your not twisting your body and practice practice and practice, try a trackday as i found this helped me go from a small grind on a roundabout to big long kneedown drags. Not that i managed it much on the road and im yet to do it on my new bike:roll eyes:

Umm - yea you can have both ;)

I was in exactly the same situation as yourself, only I had a Zx6R.  I changed it for the GSR600 - it handles *nearly* as well as the ninja.. front feels a wee bit vague sometimes, but other than that I can do everything on it that I could on the ninja, and I have the comfort of a bandit - only problem I could see for you is it's 600cc short of your 1200 bandit ;)

The bandit aint a knee down bike...Not comfortbly anyway. The tyres probably aint the best, along with the suspension. Good on him for having the bottle to do it. But its never going to be like a sportsbike is it?

on the matter of white lines when cornering it seems the same lines or no lines and to be honnest i avoid road markings as much as pos. and as for you bigmat the only problems i have is people who dont have a bike licence thinking they know it all:biggrin:
