Completely and utterly

the Driver's fault.

I don't believe it would have made the slightest bit of difference whether there had been two bikes, seven bikes, twenty nine ranger rovers or a more cones than the M6 on a Bank Holiday weekend.  He wasn't looking.  Was probably tailgating the lorry whilst texting his mistress.

As for the idea of setting it up in advance, I don't think that's viable.  They were escorting an ambulance on what was obviously an emergency call, not on a pre-arranged diplomatic visit.

However, Smidsy doesn't come close this time!

As for the statemem that he deserved to get run over, I can only put that comment down to either the effects of having been nicked for something irresponsible and stupid, or being dropped on the head at birth.

You may not like the police, but having spent time with a number of police bikers over here, you find out that, guess what? They're bikers.  I would not say such a thing about you (you know who you are), no matter what a ****er you are on the road.  Comments like that do not reflect well on you - or on us.

I believe the copper is part at fault, maybe he should have positioned his bike in such a way so that the flashing lights were more visible to the following traffic.

not the coppers 'fault' it was completely the drivers fault, but the copper didn't help himself really.

cop collision

Oh its ok then it was the drivers fault that makes everything dandy . Your missing the point ! The copper should have predicted a  blind twat may not see him and should not have put himself into the possible situation that did infact happen .

I think we call it risk assesment . :smile

did the car driver perhaps

hit him on purpose...i'd like to think so. Cops aren't bikers, coppers are wankers, and as for riding to police standards, no thanks...none of them ever caught me so they don't ride too well 'cos i'm maybe an average rider at best!

Maybe they didn't catch you as you were riding so badly they thought it was too dangerous and your safety takes priority over catching you.
