Colin Edwards doubts James Toseland’s MotoGP future

Colin Edwards has added to the major doubt about James Toseland’s MotoGP future by admitting the British rider is unlikely to be his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team-mate in 2010. Edwards has agreed a new one-year deal with the French squad after a series of impressive performances in 2009. But it remains to be seen whether he will be joined by Toseland,...

Edwards

He's enjoying being on the other side of the fence for a change. Shown to be a poor second next to the Rossi.

sour grapes is right buelligan272

Read all of this whining and bitching and complaining from these people saying "dumb yank" "redneck" blah blah and these are the same people who full damn well know if the shoe was on the other foot they would be laughing their ass off saying "Good for that dumb redneck" "I'm glad that loud mouth Yank is out".

They are just a bit upset that "WonderBoy" didn't deliever all the preseason hype of how they thought JT was going to "hand Colin his ass". Unfortunately, they actually had to hit the track and the only time JT saw Colin was after the race back at the garage.

And for all the people who continue to say Colin is average or an also ran or has been or will never win or  whatever remember this - whenever you say that all you are doing is pissing in the wind and hitting JT in the face considering JT can't beat CE and he has yet to begin achieving anything Edwards has done in GPs. Think about it.

If you are going to be mad than take the kid gloves off and be mad at JT. If he was faster or put up better results he wouldn't be in this situation. As Herve said in a interview, Tech 3 gave him everything he wanted and he hasn't produce. So if JT dug his own hole and laid in it, don't get mad at Edwards for shoveling in the dirt.

Edwards - Who He?

OK!

JT hasn't done much to hold his ride with Yamaha but he's done better than a fair few of the other MotoGP riders, so maybe he'll get a go on a Ducati - Might suit him, we'll see.

Edwards has been typically cliched American in his attitude towards JT who hasn't helped himself but Edwards hasn't done too much in the years he's been in MotoGP.

Remember he started off for 2 years (I think thats right may have been 1) as Rossi's team mate, imagine how much he learned there.

So apart from a given podium at Donington this year and a n other he hasn't done anything to be described as a top MotoGP rider. Remember the race he was leading, a few years ago, buckled under pressure and crashed on the last bend?

JT hasnt done that well but compare his 2nd year with CE's 2nd year (Remembering Rossi's team mate)  not much in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just my comments

bye James your not good enough

We can bitch about all the gp riders who we like or who we don't like but its this simple, At any one time there are only 17 bikes on the grid Toseland is usually qualifying in the bottom 33%, his points tally is poor which when you consider a lot if his results have been enhanced by people falling off etc make it even worse, improvement since he knew his job was at stake nil,on what basis other than ,he is british and popular because of his wsb success, do you give him another contract ? He hasn't had enough time on the bike ? I don't buy that either, if that was the case he would of got progressively better this is not the case he has got worse! It's a pity that the grids are so small and the days where you had to qualify to even get a start have gone,He would of been one of the most popular and highest paid spectators at a lot of the gps, get him gone,I I can't be on my own at being sick of  hearing about why the slowpoke should get another year, why not ? it's simple he's not good enough

LOL@colski

I love this site - you guys are always WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

Colin WAS NOT Rossi's teammate his 2nd year - he rode for a satellite Honda team

And no JT's 2nd year doesn't hold a candle to CE. CE was 5th in the championship and had 2 podiums and 2 fastest laps.

If you guys don't know what you  are talking about and/or just started watching GPs at least try to google or go to Motogp.com or somehwere and get your facts straight.

Oh, and if he's not a top GP rider than you are admitting  that JT can't beat an average guy, right?

I'm not really sure what you mean by Edwards being 'typically cliched American in his attitude'? I seem to remember Valentino being even more outspoken and vehement against Gibernau after the whole grid-sweeping exercise in Qatar in ('04?). I think everybody deals with what they consider to be a betrayal in their own way, and if Edwards has been unforgiving it's probably the character of the man, not the country?

I'd also suggest that a lot of the perceived hatred of Toseland from UK fans isn't actually hate but rather embarrassment on his behalf. JT made a lot of big talk, got all that he asked for from the team, then stepped up to the plate only to be beaten into a whimpering submission. If Edwards' behaviour was 'typically American', I'd hate to think Toseland's was typically British.

James would regain a lot of kudos by showing some fire on track again - whether that be in MotoGP or WSBK. Until then, we only have explanations and promises to go on, and unfortunately those don't win respect.

Incidentally...

although the article's title wrongly attributes JT's doubtful MotoGP future to a quote from Edwards, it may yet turn out to be a prophetic one. It's beginning to look like Pramac are pretty much set on Kallio and Espargaro for next year, closing another door for James.

I hope Roger Burnett has Ronald Ten Kate's number on speed dial.

Yep points are noted...JT hasn't been good enough period!  However, if the boot was on the other foot JT wouldn't have made those comments about another riders contract...opinion or not.  CE has been a great favourite of mine over the years, but this time he's a little out-of-line.  More importantly what's a new rider gonna think with all the goings on in this team with dividing walls and the like, and WTF is Haga got to do with anything?   You always rise to the bait over this side of the pond we're suppoed to be a  little more cool-headed, but you take the bait every time...that's why they do it just to wind you up!
