Video: Cops seize MCN camera

Cops in an unmarked car dramatically seized an MCN camera after we took their picture in North Wales on Sunday.   Reclaim North Wales – your pictures The officers had been waiting in a lay-by on the A5 secretly watching thousands of riders heading to our meeting in Betws-y-Coed, a protest rally over North Wales Police's heavy-handed treatment of law-abiding motorcyclists. Insane Plod

This story has managed to have me slapping my sides with glee and shaking my head at the plod's bovine stupidity, both at the same time. I have taken the liberty of running the video at my blog, with a link to this magazine - bloody brilliant work on the part of Steve Farrell who comes over as a gem.

If anyone has an uncensored version of this photograph, or can provide any more details on the skinhead who has provided such cheap and easy laughs for my readers, then please send them along. My blog is hosted in the USA and I live in Mexico.

'britmex'

Congratulations on a superb piece of writing. It's good to get this piece of Police incompetence as wide spread as possible. Idiots like the one in the video are highlighting what a sorry state of affairs this country have slipped into under a New Labour Government. The Police have been given a free run as they are viewed as 'experts' within the field of 'criminal offences' etcetera.

Problem is that the Police now see themselves as experts in EVERYTHING. They are not... I've lost count of the number of smashed Police vehicles I have seen yet the Police are out there preaching about road safety and driving skills.

The G20 summit death showed Police brutality at it's normal levels yet the Police preach about solving violence.

The Police preach about gun crime and murder and how they are out there 'saving the world' (sorry, Gordon Brown quote and not Police) yet they needlessly slayed Jean Charles de Menezes and then escape prosecution.

It really IS one rule for them and one for someone else. Not even Health & Safety can stop the buggers. Name one other job where you can drive recklessly whilst working and be completely vindicated of all responsibility and also remain employed. One other job where you can physically assault your 'customers' and receive no disciplinary action or charges. How's about naming a job or even and existence where you can MURDER someone and go home to your wife and kids at night...

This copper is only the very mildest of incompetence within the Police Force PLC. It's now time to disband the Police and employ some real 'Peacemen' rather than little robots that jump when told or even when they just feel like it.........

Britmex again

The video has now arrived on YouTube and with a bit of luck might go viral. What these slack-jaws don't realise is that is is almost impossible these days to cover up their stupidity.

Police Seize Camera

Police acting totally illegally...Take legal action. They have breached their own ACPO guidelines...The officer is totally at fault divulging the fact that he is carrying Firearms concealed in his own vehicle. Has he breached his own forces Data protection Act and guidelines ? ....IDIOT...NO WONDER JURIES ARE FINDER CRIMINALS INNOCENT WHEN FACED WITH FOOLS LIKE THIS. Should have just waived and smiled...Nobody would have known who he was...Or what was in the Boot of his car.. If I was his Chief Officer. He would be walking the Beat on Monday morning on the Squalid Estate as you enter in Wrexham from England...I was at traffic Lights on My Bike watching some guys do a Drugs Deal...

Well well, I wonder if this clip would make it onto the National news. I'm sure there were other incidents during the day as well. I spotted this Police motorcycle going up to the ponderosa overtaking with one hand on the bars. Not necessarily illegal (that i know of), but I wonder if they would be happy with us doing that on a right hander.

Careful as you go...

Remember that the ACPO Guidelines are just that... GUIDELINES. Police are not bound by them in any manner and trying to argue that they are is a futile effort. Police make up their own rules as they go along but are suppose to pay lip service to the 'guidelines' to ensure conformity and replication and also to try and help stop criminals getting off through Police incompetence.

To you and I guidelines might be of interest and be pretty important but to the Police they are little more than an inconvenience to be ignored at every possibility. Please also remember that ACPO is a PRIVATE and FOR PROFIT organisation.......

The older I get...

The more I understand why we fought a revolution against England... All of our cops carry weapons and really aren't that bothered when pictures are taken of them (unless undercover and being in paramilitary uniforms on the side of the road doesn't qualify), unless they are beating the crap out of someone... You all put up with so much BS from your government... Yes, I know, I am an American and we have a whole mess of other BS to put up with...and US orginizations are part of the reason for the BS you all have to put up with, sorry about that.

Good job MCN, you all convicted them on the spot and they had no choice but to move on when intimidation failed! Saying that,  you all should really have shown their faces in a close up, listed their names and affiliations too, and then showed their flipping registration plate...

Weapons officers for a protest organized by a motorcycle magazine? They should have provided escorts if they were that worried about it...

Just pull over there pls while we waste your time.

Just picked up on this story again on theregister.co.uk and was suprised to still see this making the news. Also not really surprising for northwales police not knowing when to shutup and actually listen for once.

We had a great day that day and i saw less police than any other day i have been up there - and we go most weekends and saturday mornings for breakfast. In our small group we all ride different types of bike, from late 80's classic sports to late 90's tourers and even a couple of classics, all legal plates, taxed etc etc yet we have been stopped 7 or more times this year always with the same old tired excuse and ANPR converyor belt setup.

I have no problem being stopped if i was speeding or being a general nuisance or inappropriate riding, however never have we even seen a producer or given any valid reason for being stopped. we have always been polite and given all information if requested (and once not even spoke to, just sent on our way after 5 mins of being stopped)

I fully appreciate there are some loaded weapons out there who treat every weekend as race week, but to tar everyone on two wheels as a threat is just insane. When i lived in northwales the weekday police were quite different and had a different stance to the weekend bullyboys. We know brunstom (and the spooky looking wolfenden) encouraged you to make our lives a misery, we also know these guys are despised by thier own force, and the vast majority of northwales police are actually reasonable decent poeple doing a tough job, however it only takes one or two (just the same as us bikers) to ruin all the good work done by the majority,

As for the camera incident, we got stopped late last year just by the speed camera in pontybodkin, by this one "gent" on his unmarked red blade (just before they went back) and he hit us with the same script when we tried to take a picture of him. same old lines. while he was argueing with me, my mate got a snap of him anyway (still got this). This particular officer has been vile each and every time we have seen him at a "road side" check, his manner is appauling, openly boasts about baiting bikes in the skoda estates (sitting nice and close pushing them into speeding before hitting the lights and booking them) and general enjoying the moment being an arse to bikers. Its this type of idiot northwales police wants rid of.

T the end of the day, you have enough ANPR to flood all routed in and out of northwales, why not simply use it and pull people if breaking the law - ie what you do to car drivers, and instead of alienating bikers.

And here's another idea, i know it a bit "out there" but hear me out. Why not try treating bikers with some respect for once, it can work both ways you know.

If a copper ever...

... tries to bait me on a bike I'll be disappearing like a bat outta hell and if the fecker wants to issue a ticket then he can damned well catch me!

Anyway, aside from this camera incident and something that I have just realised.

Am I correct in stating that 10000 bikers decended on North Wales for a well organised protest ride and it was NOT in the national press or on the news channels? I missed the news on the day so please fill me in...

If it didn't make it onto the news then WHY not? Who controls the news? If 100 foreigners in Ireland are news-worthy then surely 10000 bikers in North Wales are headlines stuff!

So -- was it or wasn't it...

Owing to the fact the people carrier's reg has not been divulged to the public at large by nefarious journalists, none of the Plod posting here (inc "plasma10") have yet confirmed this people carrier to be a firearms vehicle (or not). This issue seems to have been at the centre of the officers actions and no-one has yet backed up his statement or given rhyme nor reason for why a firearms unit would be parked up on the A5.

The response will, no doubt, be entirely lacking in substance or completely absent, citing "operational" reasons for non-disclosure.

Face it -- you made it up to sound important and justify your actions.

BTW - do NW Police have a no persuit policy on bikes? Many forces do. So what happens if "we" begin to refuse to stop because we've already been stopped twice that day? We keep being told there's nothing ANPR can't do - MoT (check); tax (check); insurance (check) - what else can there be to check? Reg plate size? It's either right or it ain't. Tyre condition (now your reaching...).

Aren't there laws about singling out groups of individuals based on belief and behaviour?

(sorry -- feeling militant due to rotten cold and working nights)
