but are they illegal

assuming i had everthing that i have on my current bike, would i be legally allowed to ride it on the road, i'm sure i could just tax it because its technically a 50cc scooter and i'm not sure about insurance....might have to look into that 1...

The implication is that they can be legal should you get it registered, MOT'd, taxed and insured. If you're modifying an existing non road legal bike with indicators, etc it may be more complex.

That was the first result that came up on Google....

If no joy getting a quote on there you'll have to ring them up.

Asking how much without any details about you means no chance of an answer.... for me on a Fireblade insurance is £4500 whereas some of the guys on here will get that for £200. Insurance is very, very variable.

pocket bikes-why bother

The big problem here is getting it taxed. to do this you need a log book and to get that you need to present the bike for type approval, which is usually easy if it is a european model of a bike already with type approval. But if not it may cost too much to do as it isnt just lights etc, emissions exhaust etc all get type approval. why dont you just look for a Honda monkey bike
