Luggage n other stuff

Hi, Was looking thru some previous threads and thought I maybe able to offer some luggage advice as some where looking for panniers etc. I used the ventura system on my old bike and it was fantastic. So when I bought the KTM I thought I would buy the panniers. I am not a fan of tank bags, so panniers it had to be! I thing the KTM units do look the biz. But I thought I would see if Ventura made a fitting kit for the KTM, and they did! Fantastic, no panniers, lots of luggage and real easy to take on and off! Does anyone know if there are any 2nd hand Akrapovic pipes around? Just been to LeMans on mine, an 04 model, gel seat still a little hard on my precious arse, but what a machine! and the best bit is that I have still only ever seen ONE other whilst out! Anybody got any suggestions on the seat, I still have the original I could use or 'donate' to a good seat maker. Front brakes do make an awful noise in the wet. Rear tyre is wearing quicker than expected, any good contacts for cheap tyres? Where are all the other Advetnures? certainly not near Telford!

I read with interest your comments on the Ktm Panniers( I'am guesssing u bought the palstic ones) while i would agree they are very easy to use and spacious, i have found that they can be a right pain in the arse in windy conditions, its like having a bloody great sail attached to the bike. I have had the bike change lanes with the wind on motorways!! its very bloody scary!. the panniers limit the top speed on motorways runs and they will develop into a sort of reverese tankslapper if pushed too hard, having said that i do still use them a hell of a lot, though i am seriously considering just taking a tailpack on my next europoen trip and leaving the cubes at home.
