How to turn your 848 into a superbike-killer

In standard form the Ducati 848 is one of MCN's favourite sports bikes. It has all the grunt, style and the bombastic soundtrack of its bigger brother the 1198, with added agility and a revvier, more involving engine. It was born for corners – it’s the exotic, twin-cylinder take on the legendary Suzuki GSX-R750. You don't have to spend the...

You don't have to spend 4K! Total bull! You can use settings on the net to help adjust the front and rear for your weight or get new internals for the stock showa forks and re spring the rear shock! Just because it say Ohlins does NOT mean it's the best and nether does it mean it is set up right for you. If you think any bike from the shop is set up right for your weight and what you are using it for then think again. Agree the standard 848 settings are a mile out unless you are 20stone..

The 848 is like the GSX750 on the road and will out perform most litre bikes in the twisty roads, more time on the throttle less time on the brakes, its the average speed that makes a bike fast not the top end, this is why the 848 is such a good bike, problem is we are all petrol heads and we have to have the biggest bike out there, this can spoil your motorcycling experience..IMO... :)
